More Earthquakes

There are more earthquakes. Beware: more earthquakes to come. Why are there so many earthquakes this year in many different part of the world?
This time, a 6.4 magnitude quake occurred in Southern Taiwan. In 1999, central Taiwan had a 7.6 magnitude earthquake. Oh, they have little earthquakes. But nothing as terrible as this.
Hope a lot of people are left unscathed by the earthquake although that's having false hope.

Review: E! Too Young To Kill: 15 Shocking Crimes

Sad but true.
These teens become hardened criminals at such a young age; they were tried as adults, so they get the maximum sentence.
I just can't get my head around it. I find it highly disturbing. Why and how can lil kids can do it? I just can't fathom it. The explanation for 'why' isn't so hard to discern because life as a teenager can be hard. Sometimes it can be hell. Be to resort to killing? I just can't fathom it. 'How' is kinda hard to put into words. I mean, do the parents have a gun lying around the house? If they do, it isn't very wise. It very tempting to use it against your parents or even your classmates who scorned you. Don't you need to be an adult to acquire a gun?  Have the violence in our entertainment industry really have desenitized our teens? This real life, not some video game, the be-all-end-all.
These teens have their whole lives ahead of them. It's worse than being, say breaking your parents' rules, you're breaking the law. When you break your parents' rules, all you get is yelled at or restrict your privileges like being grounded. But when you break the law, you have to live the consequences for the rest of your life, maybe your eternity. These kids have their whole lives ahead of them, why spend it behind bars?
They could find a solution to their problems some other way besides murder like talking, but maybe kids do it for the thrill.
Sad but true. It is a nightmare to have the parents see their kids sent off to prison unless the kids already did the parents in... This is whole other topic that I don't wanna get into right now. My heart goes out to them.

God is so not Cool

If God is just and righteous, why, then, did He make me broken? Am I just damaged goods to Him or what? Why wasn't I made flawlessly? Why do I have flaws?
I guess everybody has flaws. Even the most purrrfect people have flaws. Nobody is purrfect except maybe (?) God. God sent His Son, Jesus, who was flawless, in every way except  for the people who persecuted him. Jesus came to die for our sins b/c He was no sinner. He was God personified.
(Sorry to get so religious on you folks.)

Help Chile...Help the World!

Chile suffered a horrible 8.8 earthquake Saturday, causing tsunami in the Pacific Rim all the way from Alaska to Hawaii. It is in dire need of help for those that suffered the casualty. Help, Help,Help! It is terrible! Why is this happening? It is very sad that people are dying everywhere. First, it was Haiti. Now it's Chile and then there's the tsunami... Oh dear. Is it b/c of global warming? 'Cause now they're having earthquakes in places that didn't used to have earthquakes... California is supposedly the only place to have earthquakes. I mean, California is Earthquake Country. Next we know, there'll be earthquakes over in New York (like in that Greg Evigan movie Earthquake in New York!

RIP Andrew Koenig aka Boner of Growing Pains

Remember Boner from Growing Pains? He was the funny guy (he was funny-looking), the sidekick to Kirk Cameron's ladies man, the smooth operation with the ladies. Boner agreed to everything Mike did, being the loyal best friend he was.
Well, he met a tragic end. Andrew Koenig, best known as Boner from Growing Pains has died. He committed suicide.
How did it come to this?! Why didn't anyone, anyone in his family or any of his friends knew about his depression? And if they did, why didn't they seek help for him?! Why did they wait till it was too little, too late? It shouldn't have to come to this... Why did they let it? If they knew about his depression was this deep, why didn't they take drastic measures? Everything is messed up. It takes a tragedy to help another person.
Someone I know said that committing suicide is a very selfish act b/c the one who commits the deed is only thinking of him/herself; they're not giving a thought as to what might happened to other people who might suffer b/c he/she commits suicide.
But then again, they're not thinking about others and how it might it affect them 'cause they're in so much pain like Andrew Koenig.
Being depressed is like before you're cut off from this world. You feel like drowning in your own nightmares day after day with no end in sight. It may feel like your life is ending, but it is just beginning... So reach out to someone if your feeling down in the pits. Talk it out.
So seek help before it's too late...  Look at the bigger picture. Reach out to someone who needs a friend. Be a friend to them.
Enjoy life to the fullest with your loved ones before their lives are cut short, whether its by suicide, illness, natural causes or whatever ailment b/c this is a cold, hard world. We must face the cold, hard reality-we don't live in an utopia-we live in a world full of violence and sexual innuendo. It's not safe out there. Oh, as children, our parents tried to shelter us, but as adults we must face reality-the hard, cold world. We can't be sheltered forever, though our parents wish we could be.

Help thru Blogging

I read an article (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100220/tc_afp/chinasocietypoverty_20100220171438)that blogger  help the Beijing (China, natch!) homeless through blogging. People contribute money through his website to help the homeless mostly either disabled or out-of-work Chinese. Now, with the help of this one blogger and his contributers, he helped the Beijing's homeless.  That's very noble of him. That's above the call of duty. Now that's what I call making a difference in a life of a person-being a good samaritan, thinking about others before yourself, doing a selfless act, an act of random kindness.
Blogging could change lives (ie.: contributing to the homeless)!
Bless his heart! And to everyone who contributed to the cause!

Note: My folks say this could be a scam, so watch where you contribute your money 'cause you don't know where it goes.

Labels, labels, labels

I hate 'em
The confines of labeling
I hate being labeled as
disabled
when I am totally, competely capable of doing lots of things...
interdependent
when I am totally, competely capable of doing things on my own,
thank you very much
I don't need your support;
I can do it on my own,
thank you very much
I don't need an enabler,
thanks but no thanks
Come to think of it,
I hate being label as
client
cause it means I need help;
I'm not fragile,
I won't break in half
I can speak up for myself-
I CAN SELF-ADVOCATE
just as others advocate for me
I HATE LABELS-
I JUST CAN'T STAND 'EM!
