America's Septuplets Turn 13

America's 1st surviving septuplets-that's 7 kids-just became teenagers. Warning: parents, lock up your little ones up! Just kidding! Although one of the teen girls has cerebal palsy-CP-everybody else is normal and fine. She doesn't let that stop her from living a normal life. Get ready, McCaughey parents, for a teen angst and all that being a teenager issues. Though there may be ups and downs to being parents of a teenager, try being a parents of 7 teenagers (including your oldest makes 8)!
Be courageous because remember as the Pat Benatar song goes, love is a battlefield.

Inspiring Stories

Life is so fill w/ inspiring stories... You just gotta know where to look for 'em!
There's a coupla of inspiring stories I'd like to mention, so here goes:
People with disabilities can do a lot of things including create wheelchairs called RoughRider for Whirlwind that help wheelchair users navigate rough areas whethere it's urban or rural (ie.:  rocks, grass, mud, broken concrete, wooden planks and last but not least gravel). Originally RoughRiders were designed (by SF State students and taught by a guy in a wheelchair 'cuz he's paralyzed) for developed countries, they decided to send some of their best wheelchairs over to Haiti. Before the wheelchairs came, Haitians were dying left n' right due to massive pressure sores. But when the wheelchairs arrived, not one died.
The students are now designing wheelchairs for children who were born with cerebral palsy and spina bifida. These kids were carried to school till they became to heavy. Even if they did made it to school, they can't stand for long, so they had to lie on the floor. Therefore, the students at SF State are creating a wheelchair that put handrims in the kids' reach so they can drive themselves and an adjustable feature that helps the kids grow into the chair.

Here's my second awe-inspiring story: A young woman, Kathleen Martinez, is an advocate for her peers in the disability community. She is a champion, a hero, well in this case, a heroine. She is the voice of the disability commuity.
What makes her amazing isn't what she says, it is because she doesn't let her disability (blind) stop her from doing what she loves. She has overcame many obstacles to get to where she is today. (She serves as the head of the US Dept of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy). Although she's blind, she used her other senses during her time at SF State: She was into the speech and communication dept. It gave her a lot of strength and courage to go forth in the real world to pursue a career. She is on the Alumni Hall of Fame.
Her profs challenged her intellectually. She wanted to do a paper on supporting the passage of ADA, but her prof says what kind of burden it'll have on the businesses
After SF State, she stepped out into leadership roles at World Institute on Disabiltiy in Oakland. She directed Proyecto Vision, a national tech assistant centre to increase employment opportunities for Latinos w/ disabilities,  & Access to Assets and asset-building project to help reduce poverty among people w/ disabilities. She became exec-director of the institue in 2005. She also served on the National Council on Disabilty, the State Dept Advisory Committee on Disabilty and Foreign Policy, and on the board of the US Institute of Peace
In 2009 Pres Obama nominated and was confirmed by the Senate to be sassistant secretary for disability employment policy.
Her goal is for all people w/ disabilities to get a productive citizens of this world by getting a job.

What Guys Like in a Girl

Guys like a girl
who drives a slim, sleek, hot sports souped-up lowrider
w/ all its hardware intact
including interior leather seats
that bumps and grinds
just to show off to the guys
pump it up, baby!

Note: Maybe I'm describing a guy's dream girl and not a car at all!

Latest Newest Coolest Cars of 2011

The latest newest coolest cars of 2011 are coming!
They are mostly supercars-racecars for drag racing- sports cars like Mustang, Ferrari.
Most of 'em are convertibles. They're like, totally awesome, dude! (Sorry for the surfer dude-speak, but whatever...) Wish I can drive, but even if I can drive I can't afford 'em. They would set me back like up to $3000. I guess a really hot top of the line convertible costs a lot of dough. Not like a say a Dodge. Now that kind of car would set me back like $200 cuz Dodge aren't very nice cars.
Man the Ferrari looks stellar! It was so sweet! Couldn't afford it though! Got everything. Also in the list for top car is a Ford, a BMW(duh), Buick, VW, Chevy, Mercedes Benz (of course) McLaren.
I love sports cars, and I want one of these days (if I ever get a license).
On yourmark
                     get set
                               go!

Don't Ask, Don't Tell

The Don't Ask, Don't Tell law banning gay military servicemen & women from enclosing that they are gay or lesbian has been lifted! That law or should we say ban? was discriminatory anyways. Hiding sexual orientation, which is what law says for you to do, is against the law. Hiding your past like your criminal history is against law, so it's wrong to hide your sexual orientation. Ending the don't ask don't tell law is a stepping stone to other facets of gay dimension. Next there'll be a federal la for gay marriage. I mean, it happen with the desegregation of the military and look where we are now...
And it's all thanks to Pres. Barack Obama! Thank you, Pres. Obama! Now our gay servicemen and women can served our country openly; they needn't hide in the closet anymore, so to speak
It's a celebration for all sides since both Republicans and Democrats voted to end the Don't Ask, Don't Tell military gay ban. One for the team!

First X-mas

It'll be the first X-mas for my nephew, Brandon, my older brother Kevin and my sister-in-law's son  Born in Feb., he'll be 10 mons since yesterday. Precious baby. Their first baby and my parents' first grandchild. There may be more in the future or may be not 'cuz they have a handful with this one.
Baby Brandon just went to visit his grandparents on his mom's side in Taiwan over Thanksgiving.

At my new house, we have a new pup and new kitten. They are both beautiful in their own ways. But the pup is a total homewrecker. As for me, I'm a cat lover. I don't mind the cat. But I don't much like the dog. He's a small thing but annoying nonetheless.The pup won't leave me alone! The kitten is just awfully friendly.Perhaps a little over-friendly?!

A week till X-mas!

Yay!
A week til X-mas!
What great fun! Can't wait!
Just wondering-r u guys good all year-round or r u good during X-mas season?
Better say the first one 'cuz you just can't be good only during the holidays- you gotta be good all year-ronnd!

Christmas is Comin'

Eight more days till X-mas!
I can't hardly wait!
X-mas may be over-commericalized (is that such a word?), but it's still fun to anticipate the good times we will be spend w/ our families together despite the economy
Some people like helping others while others have nowhere to go :(  No family, no housing. In these harsh economic times, we must pull thru together by helping each other. It's not about selfishly giving presents to our families but about caring about others less fortunate than us.
God Bless us & May our Hearts be Bountiful this Season!

Bellagio Robbery

There was a robbery @ the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas by a motorcyclist. He stole some of the gambling chips that were not even worth much cause they got codes on 'em. The security believes it was an inside job 'cuz he knew which table had the best, most highest chips there was, so if you go to next time, be on the lookout for any people who might try to rob you blind. Don't get all crazy gambling like there's no tomorrow.

Cavalier Revue

As a lil girl, I loved horses, but this horse circus brought back my love of horses full-force!  I guess I never stop loving horses!
The horses were so-there's no word in our English vocab to describe it-but immaculate comes to mind!
I love the mirage of the carousel that make it seem like they were flying.
And I also like the part where the guys were jumping off the horses as horses were moving- the guys were doing sidesaddle and such.
I like the big strong white horses with the big long tails and manes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I would like to add a non-horse theme, more X-masy theme: 9 more days till X-mas!!
Christmas Countdown
10 more days till the inevitable!
Oh  yeah baby
As of now, the Christmas countdown has started! Can't hardly wait! I'm counting down days till Christmas! As I count down the days, I also count down the hours, minutes, seconds and so on and so forth.
I love Christmas! Even if it doesn't snow here in NorCal (though I wish it did!), it rains (I love the rain dontcha? It's the next best thing to snow. I love the refreshingness of it all The wet, cold weather may me feel frigid, but I love it. (I'm sounding like dog w/ a wet cold nose and that's what I sometimes have when I'm cold, besides a sore throat, but nuff about me) Guess what? Rain tastes like ice from the sky. That's ice for thought. LOL!
As I learned from my years in Catholic school and church, the true meaning of Christmas isn't the presents or Santa Claus (as if there ever was one!-it's a child's myth, is all), it is Jesus' birth.. Jesus is the son of God and the virgin mother Mary, her husband was Joseph who was Jesus' adoptive father.
Film Revue: Burlesque
Burlesque was phenomenon at its best! This was the most spectuacular, most original musical ever unlike some of the most recent musicals as of late: remake from the John Waters classic Hairspray or the old Broadway revival of Chicago, this ain't. At least I know that Hollywood can be original. (Hollywood and originality in the same sentence? Something we haven't seen or heard of a lot lately, but Burlesque topped it all!
Christina Aguilera was great. She was so wonderful. Her singing, not to mention her acting, was beyond wonderful. There is no word to describe how wonderful she was. One thing I gotta say about Christina Aguilera-she sure has an incredible voice-a real powerhouse. She got nothing on Cher.
On the other hand, Cher may be a wonderful actress, but she's a washed-up old-timer when it comes to her singing ability. She doesn't sing like she used to with spunk and power. She has just this deep baritone, which means she is giving a real effort to try to sing with real emotion.
Plus, there's a backstory: Cher's character, who's the owner of the nightclub Burlesque, is trying to save it from being sold while Christina Aguilera's character has men troubles since she just arrived in LA to expand her horizons, so to speak, and doesn't know who to trust.
I don't wanna give out everything, but I wanna let y'all know everything turn out for the best.
Don't let this movie revue stop you from going to this movie. Enjoy and have a good time!
Justin Bieber's New Movie Never Say Never
Yep, that's right-y'all read it right!
JB has a new movie coming out about his life. It's an inspiring story about his life- about never giving up when things get tough- when the tough gets going, the going gets tough or something like that. It's about a rags-to-riches story. As he said the other night on TV, he 'just  a normal kid living a dream.'
It may be a doc-showing his life before he got famous via his home videos, but it's still amazing that he was plucked from obscurity like from a billion other kids from YouTube just 'cause he got (singing) skills.
Even I want to go, the tix for the exclusive sneak preview is sold out. Can't you believe it!?! They make it like a concert in 3-D (like Hannah Montana 3-D) only diff is that they show home videos and everything before he turned famous.
Call me a cynic, but aren't you supposed to be dead or do something infamous or achieve something more before there's a movie made about your life. I mean, he just started becoming famous, for pete's sake! This must be some crazy, crazy (hectic!) year for JB!
First he became famous thru his music by singing a Chris Brown song on YouTube of all places, where he was discovered. Then he started to work with Usher among other famous artists (Sean Kingston). And then there's Bieber Fever! More like Bieber Mania! Crazy! Life is getting better n' better for him lately. He won AMAs and got nominated for Grammys. Next up: his movie about his life.
Let's Get this Party Started!
Back in the days, (ah those were the days!) way before hippies and the psychedelic era (60s) and love-peace era when everybody was everybody else's love child, there was the beatniks. the more civilized era. The era of Merry Pranksters and Kerouac and Cassady and Allen Ginsberg (of Howl). They live in communes They were non-conformists. They were my kind of people They were part of Be-In. They took over SF, esp Haight Ashbury. That resulted in the hippies era-love peace and LSD. Also mary jane (marijuana). That led to the Summer of Love. We had Summer of Love; East Coast had Woodstock. Then came the war (the Vietnam War, that is) protests were CRAZY! Today's protests of the Iraq were much tamer than the protests of the Vietname War. Tear gas was used. Arrests were made. UC Berkeley made a stand against the war and that started a whole much of protests around the nation including Kent State.
Before the beatniks (50s), the era was old-fashioned. Men looked dapper all the time; women look glam-slam Every outing was a big event. They actually wear formal attire everywhere even to meet up with friends. The women, especially, were spoiled by their men. They weren't allowed to tan, so they carried a parasol or wear a bonnet. They also wear gloves to protect their porcelain skin. They weren't allowed any strenuous activity like the boys were. Girls can only knit, sew, and read (and daydream!)
Boys, on the other hand, can get away with many things like getting dirty but they do many abundant chores to keep themselves occupied like taking care of the horses (wish we girls can do that!), play sports (girls weren't allowed, no fair!)
But one thing boys and girls, men and ladies, no matter the age group, were allowed to do together was dance. With each era, dance forms change, some for the better, some for the worst. It changed with the times.
Life + love
 Life can't flourish without love, as this quote from the famous Oscar Wilde dictates:
Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.
Oscar Wilde
You need these 3 things in order to survive in life (nope, not 3 wishes!)
To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
Reba McEntire
Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.
Charles Dickens
Another take on 'stop & smell the roses,' as this following quote goes:
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.
Robert Herrick
You how people backstab even their best friends to get to the top of the glass ceiling or to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well this quote (rather old-fashioned cause no one plays on their way to the top of the social ladder.) says you should play nice on the way to the top of the social ladder:
Be nice to people on your way up because you'll need them on your way down.
Wilson Mizner
Love Quotes & More
Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.
H. Jackson Brown
To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.
Source Unknown
I am nothing special of this I am sure. I am just a common man with common thoughts. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, that has always been enough.
Nicholas Sparks
I love these love quotes. But here's one of my own:
Love in past, present & future
Love always & forever & ever
All is fair in love & war
To thus, love shall conquer all
And everything shall perish
                                            without love
we shall fight to the end
In the end
               Love shall superseded all
It will be the end all-be all
Love is boundless
             everlasting
                               eternity
Reach for the love energy
                                        that radiates off of you
The pain of love
Love is excruciatingly painful at times. This quote says it all:
Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense.
Mark Overby
I know how painful love can be 'cause I've been burned by loved before
Love-let me count the ways
This love quote reminds me of a Taylor Swift song:
Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you' re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU... The one who turns to his friends and says, thats her...
I wish there's a guy like that for every girl (like me!)
Hope there's a match for every starcrossed lover!
The meaning of love
Got the holiday blues?
I know, there're the worst.
Well, here's a lil something-something to cheer you right up:
The real meaning of love
Pick me right up
What is Love?
Our favorite description of love is from the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin:
"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."
-St. Augustine
To love & happiness in the coming years and beyond!
May it be kept unspoiled from temptations and sin and betrayals (maybe I've watching way too many soaps lately-real life isn't like that!)
Disney Update
Just saw an episode of Sonny with a Chance (starring Demi Lovato and guest starring Joe Jonas). It must've filmed right before their breakup and subsequently her breakdown. I thought her show would've been cancelled by now You could tell by the way they look at each other that they're totally in love with each other, pre-breakup. Maybe her show will be cancelled by next season? Who can predict the future?
In other Disney news: Have you heard?  There's a new funky happening, hip show out there called Shape it Up! I'm so there! I'll give you the dl on it: it's a show within a show, mostly it's about two girls who get in a dance show but it's also about being a teenager in the slums of NY.
Happy Holidays!
Feast! Shop til you drop! Presents! Celebrate!
Year in, year out. Life is the same old, same old.
Is this any way to celebrate the holidays by spending money on meaningless gifts that won't be used. will most likely be returned to the store.
As for Turkey Day, what kind of celebration is that? We celebrate with food year-round anyways, so what's the point in celebrating it on Thanksgiving? (On a personal note, we're not having a big Thanksgiving feast b/c my brother's family left for town.)
Maybe I'm a cynic...
Isn't the holidays supposed to be relaxing, not the time of year that would cause a nervous breakdown for some ladies who have to cook, clean. do X-mas shopping. Life doesn't get any better than this.
Hope y'all have a blessed holiday (and no meltdowns)!
Prince William & Kate Middleton
Engaged!
He's totally off the market now!
Actually, he's always had Kate by his side for the past 8 yrs now! It was inevitable But they're officially engaged now! The paps have been hounding them to get engaged, to get married. well here you go gang! It finally (unfortunately!) came true!  The couple's now engaged, set to get married as of next year: A royal wedding, perhaps? Wait n' see!
He's one in a million! (Hope he's not like his father!) He's a keeper, Kate! Don't let him get away!
His engagement ring to Kate is his mother's (Princess Di, natch). I'll betcha that it's jinxed! I bet my bottom dollar that that engagement ring carries bad  luck all around.
Animal Cruelty
Treat animals-like humans-w/ dignity, humanity and respect! Even animals have rights. Be an animal advocate.
Though the only animals I prefer are birds, rabbits hamsters (rodents, if you will) and lovely felines. (I'm a girl. Girls love their cats and boys love their dogs, so sue me ;P)
Dogs are a total and complete nuisance. Someone I know has a dog who is not housebroken. He terroizes me (I hate dog. Stupid mutts.) According to her, to wreck everything in her apartment. She now has to keep him in a cage. Poor thing is locked up in a cage all day long. What's the point in having a dog if you can't treat 'im right? A dog should be allowed to run around in the backyard not cooped up in a cage. He is chewing up your stuff cuz you won't let him have fun.
Also the other lady got a new kitty after kicking her old cat out for being a destroyer of all things inanimate. Is that any way to treat an animal? Nosirree bob it isn't!
How inhumane! How indecent!
Sweet Valley
Great Sweet Valley News!
Diablo Cody has signed on to make a SVH movie based on the books set in the 80s (yep, the good ole 80s!) Yay!
In other Sweet Valley News, Sweet Valley Confidential: Ten Years Later is coming out soon set 10 years after the main characters, Elizabeth & Jessica Wakefield, identical twins of Sweet Valley High, has graduated from high school. And the best news yet? it's coming out the month of my b-day! Happy Birthday to me!
A lot of things can happen in ten years. For example, why are Elizabeth and Jessica not on speaking terms? Why is Bruce Patman, of all people, Elizabeth's friend?  Had Bruce Patman really changed? Why did Elizabeth split Sweet Valley for New York? What did Jessica do to her this time?
Is this the beginning of a whole new series or what? I guess we'll just have to wait n' see, won't we?
Demi Lovato
Sad but true.
Another teen star-another Disney teen star-has crossed over to the dark side. No I'm not talking about Darth Vader-type dark side. I'm talking about having a serious meltdown dark side. And when I mention another Disney star, I'm saying Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan. Like I read on one website, it may be the pressure of being a Disney kid, working overtime. Don't they have child labor laws-in this day n' age? Or maybe it could be b/c of her breakup w/ one Jonas brother (Joe Jonas, to be precise) he's a jerk for letting you go like that-he's just like to play w/ a girl's emotions-he's just a playa and seeing her w/ another girl (an actress, no less, probably doesn't even come close to being as talented as Demi Lovato), Ashley Greene so soon after their breakup (in a liplock, no less. Poor lil rich Demi Lovato. But one thing's for certain she still has her BFF, Selena Gomez, to lead on. Plus, she's getting the help she need b/c she's going to rehab for doing drugs. Her image, her reputation is tarnished. Maybe forever. But if she's willing to work at it, she will surpass all.
I wish her all the best. Demi, you don't need a boy to tie you down, a ole ball-and-chain. You gotta have faith to overcome whatever demons you have lying within you. Be strong n' be true to yourself.
Surrond yourself w/ friends like your BFF Selena Gomez and your castmasts from Sonny with a Chance and all your other Disney pals. Guys just rub you the wrong way. Don't let guys demean your character. You can stand on your own. Be your own person. No one is the boss of you except you.
Demi Lovato, We Love You! We're Behind You All the Way!!
You don't have to go thru this alone-we-your fans-send our best wishes to you.
Good Luck! Though your days may be dark now, you got friends-and fans-like your BFF Selena Gomez standing by you.
Love n' Kisses,
Your Favorite Disney Fan
The Pitfalls of Fame
Too bad for poor Janis Joplin. She had so much talent but made all the wrong choices in life that she died so young. She should have used that fame for something useful like to make something of herself or change the world. Poor Janis Joplin ended up dead of a heroin overdose. So much wasted talent.
During the 80s, River Phoenix died of an overdose at the Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. They just can't handle it, They become addicted to it (Yep, Johnny Depp co-owned Viper Room w/ River Phoenix. As of late, a lot of stars or former stars had been doing drugs. They don't seem to be getting enough of it.
Kate Moss, who tried it w/ her ex-boyfiiend Babyshambles Pete Doherty, but she straighten up her up her act. She had since broken up w/ her bad-news boyfriend and started her own clothing label, TopShop. Some people, some celebs come out of their drug-addicted state. Another example is Amy Winehouse, who is no longer wearing her famous beehive 'do, but is sober
Some people-some celebs-just can't get a clue. Just can't their life back like Lindsay Lohan, who's gone back n' forth to rehab. And let's not forget Paris Hilton, who's been hit w/ DUI, not once but twice. And don't talk to me about Mel Gibson and his supposedly drunken tirade. Ah the humanity of it all!
Tell me, why do we love celebrities so much? This ain't news; this is gossip. This is what people go to the their kick, their addiction daily. It's like a drug to them. Celebrity gossip is a drug to us common folk.
Don't forget to read your tabloids, honeycakes! You might find something useful (yeah, right)!
Psychedelic/Acid Rockers
A side note: they were called psychedelic/acid rockers were cause they were on LSD (acid), which causes them to see psychedelic images. Those acid made them into some fantastic rockers. Rock on, rock goddess.
Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane was of the psychdelic era. She may have been 'one of the guys,' but she made a name for herself beyond being 'one of the guys' She was awesome. She outshone the guys. She sings Psychedelic rock, acid rock, hard rock. Though she's not as well known now as in her heyday (60s), she's still is a hard rocker. She is from the old boys' school, but she was allowed to enter cause she was sang w/ the boys.
Her stage name, Grace Slick says it all. It says she is cool and confident and I don't care what people think of me. The guys in her band-Jefferson Airplane-didn't treat her any different just cause of her sex; they treated like an equal. All that matter to them was her wonderful emotional voice.
I guess all old-timers (Janis Joplin for one) are emotional. What I like best about the late Janis Joplin was the way she sang her songs w/ such raw emotion. I never heard a singer sing w/ such raw emotion before. Oh those pop singers of late don't count. They don't have much talent as either Janis Joplin or Grace Slick. They are so superficial; they have no substance. Lame the 9th degree. Now that I think about it, even dance videos (though they're my fave) are demeaning to women, showing them as sexual objects, not as human beings. Janis Joplin sang w/ such raw emotion, such emotional energy. She was no fake. She knew who she was and went for it; too bad she didn't realize her potential. Too bad she had to make all these mistakes, but I guess to human is to err in the way of the life. Many talented singers, not just the late, great Janis Joplin, died of an overdose and not just only singers.
Election Day-Make your Voices be Heard!
Didja vote on election day?? Shouldn't they turned it into a holiday to give people a break from the nitty-gritty-ness of work? Nah, just an idea I had. If they took a holiday of day-off from work, then how'll they get to go out n' vote?
Wish I vote so that I could've made my voice be heard. It's sorta like advocating for your rights.Whether you're conservative (Democrat) or liberal (Republican) you should make your voices heard LOUD and clear.
Like it or not, you're a citizen of the free world (USA), and the people have a right in their decisions they make that'll effect the lives of many individuals, including their peers. Okay, come to think of it, voting is like advocating for your rights.
Everybody has rights, including animals. For example, when they are treated inhumanely, people have the right to speak up for them that they are treated w/ animal cruelty. And also people who can't speak up for themselves must have others advocating for them.
So go out and make your voices heard by VOTING!!
Role Model
You know who my role model is? Taylor 'Fearless' Swift. She isn't afraid of taking chances, and she doesn't have to be mean to get to the top. Even though she won all these awards, it hadn't inflated her ego. This just proves that nice girls can win; they don't always finish last. She is a shining example for all of Young Hollywood/Nashville types, who has turned to drugs, alcohol, you name it, they tried it. She didn't became an overnite sensation overnite, but she had to work at it. She kept going at it; she had perseverance.
I could name a dozen other ladies that were like Taylor Swift who started when they were young (Janis Joplin, Joan Jett to name a couple) Joan Jett and Janis Joplin started in the music biz way, way before I was born. In the 80s (the 80s rock!), there was Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. And the 90s have the blondes babes: Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, (who became a brunette so that she can stand out) and last but definitely not least (we can't forget) Britney Spears, (whose life lately has been marred by the tabs)! Speaking of the tabs, most of the 90s female pop singers' life has been scrutinized by the paparazzi and becomes tabloid fodder. No celebrity, whether female or male should live their life that way. Now with hi-tech technology like the internet people could get info about celebs not only from tabloids but from the world wide web. The Internet could be a dangerous tool in the wrong hand, but use wisely, it could be very useful like knowing when and where to dispatch an emergency call.
Giants At the World Series!
From here on in, I'm gonna keep tabs on the Giants on the World Series.
Go Giants!
The SF Giants won Game 1 of the World Series with the score 11-7.  If they win the 1st game, they just might win the other games in the series.Gotta have faith that they'll win all the games in the World Series! It's crazy-I mean CRAZY-downtown near the ballpark, I'll bet. Don't want to be in that mob. Glad I'm just an armchair fan.We so took down Texas tonite. The TV sports reporter said we took down the best pitcher of the Texas Rangers. If that's the case, then they must suck! The Giants are the best-I
mean THE BEST!This Uribe dude is unstoppable. He's a force to be reckon with. It's not only the Uribe guy it's a team effort.
The Giants have come a long way, baby!
Game 2 of the World Series: the Giants won 9-0. They have remained undefeated unstoppable throughout these two games. They must think they are invincible. Even I think they are invincible. They are gonna win this World Series! I guess I'm being a little over optmistic, but I guess being a pessimist is showing no faith for your team even if they are on a losing streak, which they're not. This is all hypo thetically. They are now and throughout this World Series remain on a winning streak, hopefully. Only time will tell.
Game 3 of the World Series:Texas Rangers beat the Giants by only 2 lousy points! (Final score was 4-2 in favor of the Rangers.) Dumb luck! How could've the Giants have lost so royally? Maybe it was the atmosphere? Someone said if the Giants are as good they say they are, then they could win anywhere. Doesn't matter where. Maybe they didn't have the support of their local fans? The hissing and booing of the Texas Rangers' fans didn't helped much.
Oh well, I guess you win some, you lose some, huh?
As for the stats: Right now, the Giants are 2-1. If the Giants override the Rangers in two more games, then they'll have the Rangers beat. We'll win the World Series in the first time since forever.
Game 4 of the World Series: Giants won 4-0. They're one game away from being the World Series champs. As of now, they're 3-1. Giants are the champs! Giants are the champs! It's a cause for celebration(mixed w/ Halloween, it would add to the mayhem!) Go Giants!
Game 5 of the World Series: Giants won 3-1. That means a 4-1 victory for Giants. They're the 2010 World Series Champions, as long as I've been alive. This is the first time since the Giants moved to SF that the won in the World Series! Kudos for the Giants! Victory for the SF Giants! Yay! A celebration is in order! Already fireworks is going off in my 'hood. I'll bet all the people in all the bars in the City are partying. It's Party Time!
GIANTS are the WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!
There will be a parade to honor the SF Giants on being the World Seriges Champs (as if I didn't know that already!) at 11am on Wednesday. It's gonna go up Montgomery & Washington streets and go southbound on Montgomery to Market Street before continuing west on Market Street to Civic Center
Plaza. If you're a fan, you would go.
The Victory Parade-Ah the Victory Parade for our hometown heroes!-About time, huh? Well, lemme tell ya one thing. I'm not a very patient person by nature and this craziness, which I never seen before, sure there had victory parades for 49ers, but I've never been anywhere near downtown when they had them. Waiting for a bus for what seems like an eternity-really 15 minutes, but still...
Wish I could've been there, but me and crowd don't mixed well, so I'll have to contend w/ getting the highlights either online or on TV. But even if I went, I could only have seen crowds and crowds of people, not the main attraction, which was the SF Giants and of course our beloved mayor.
I'll bet my bottom dollar that the people are still out on the street celebrating. God, life is good! Definitely! Now, if only the 49ers win!
Giants are #1!
and
Go Niners!
Score One for the Team!!
Until next year, huh? As for now we can enjoy and let it all sink in (that we finally AT LAST) won the world series!!
We're the at the top of our game-
We're the
     2010 World Champs!!!
Miss World vs. Miss Universe
Speaking of getting technical, what's the diff between Miss World and Miss Universe? They're practically the same thing, competing for the title. I mean, a lot of ladies from different countries are competing for the title of Miss World/Miss Universe, so what's the diff?
I guess Miss Universe is more classier since it's run by a little unknown (yeah, right) Donald Trump. and he controls and the other beauty pageants including Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, you name it, they got it. Anyways, Miss World was on E! so there was no class there, but ya know, what channel Donald Trump's beauty pageants are always on: yep, NBC! cause bought the rights, I guess.
Anyways, beauty pageants are still lame. Hella lame! Beauty pageants are about looks, not brains. They only care about your 'fifteen mintues of fame,' strutting around like an airhead, getting away 'being blonde.' I guess beauty pageants were invented by men so that they can ogled women. How disgusting. How repulsive.
We women are not airheads. We can think for ourselves. It's all no brains, no glory. We can shine with our intellect. We can succeed without you guys. Behind every man is a woman striving to excel in this world.  It's a dog eat dog world. We must fight to get to the top; it doesn't matter who gets hurt in the process cause nice girls don't win in this rat race.
Miss World 2010
Can't you believe it?
Miss USA (from Kentucky) won over 114 possible hopefuls. I mean, I'm glad that USA won and all, but couldn't they have chosen someone that wasn't so oh I don't know so American. I mean, Alexandria Mills, 18, is blond and maybe possibly have blue eyes. How cliche. So much for boardening our horizons. I think the beauty pageant was fixed! The injustice of it all! Her main career goal in life is to be are you ready for this? is to be a teacher. How boring and typical of her. What a way to break out of her shell! Not! She doesn't have a job or a career yet since she just graduated from college, but I guess the judges chose her b/c she won't make waves (won't cause a controversy).
Beauty pageants are lame anyways. In beauty pageants, looks do matter. Brains-intellect, knowledge, know-how-doesn't matter. (If brains do matter, then China would've won. I'm just sayin.') Not in the slightest. That's why the ladies can get away with acting dumb during the Q&A. Lame. Really lame. Tell me about it.
Film Revue: Valmont (1989)
In another version of Dangerous Liasions, this is a French period piece. It is mostly talking about going after true love no matter what the cost. The 15-year-old innocent, naive girl is played by Fairuza Balk, who is infatuated w/ her 17-year-old music tutor. They write secret love letters to each other. While helping her write a love letter to her music tutor, Valmont ends p in her pants. But Valmont is the one who is pushing her crush/boyfriend/ex-music tutor (gets fired after her mother found out about the love notes he have been sending her. Her mother forbids the lovebirds to meet b/c she already have an arranged marriage w/ her young, naive daughter (naive 'cause she is in convent school all this time). The guy she is arrranged to marry is old and has a lover. You get the picture. She tries all sorts of sneaky ways to meet up w/ her crush/boyfriend, even one time suggesting they married right now. Valmont helps her boyfriend deliver love letters to and from his girlfriend. But at the end, Valmont and the young naive girl's boyfriend have to fight in a duel. A duel to the end! A duel for true love, which you think about it is kinda romantic, but at what cost? Well, anyway, Valmont ends up dying.
I guess everything has its price, including love. Love... What a triangle! Too many lies... Too many deception.. Anyway, the pandora box is full of bad stuff and at the bottom is hope. A tangle web we weave to which we deceive.
Peace and Happiness, ya all!
Fall is upon us
You know what that means-
Not only is it holiday season-Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas (that's winter) New Year's,
But it is also pumpkin season-
God, I love anything pumpkin-flavored
All year long I wait
                               and
                        wait
                               and
                        wait
for pumpkin-flavored food.
Well, honey, the wait's over!
Then we can go back into our coffins
Vampires
Ghosts
and
Ghouls
and
Zombies
Creeps in the nite
Blood on the doors
and windows
Shatters the heart into a million pieces
The blood runs cold
with every creak
        every bump
                          in the dead of the nite
Have a frighful halloween!
Giants Go All the Way to the World Series!!
Yay Giants! Annihilate the Texas Rangers! Go Giants!
Last coupla times they made it to the World Series, they lost, Will they win this time around? Only time will tell.... Only time will tell.... Maybe they've learned from their past mistakes. Let's hope so. We all gotta have faith. Faith that the Giants will CRUSH the Texas Rangers!
Bring it on home, baby!
Yell-Oh Girls!: A Section by Section Book Review
Have you ever feel like you're on the outside looking in? Have you ever feel your (American) cultire is different from ancestral culture? Who are your role models? Who can you look up to?
This anthology is written from the prespective of teenage Asian American girls. It is about how they blend into the melting pot that is America.
From the 1st two chapters I read so far, it not easy to go with the flow, so to speak. The first section, Orientation: Finding the Way Home, it is about trying to fit in in this mass of white, male dominant society. I mean, the teachers who taught the girls were mostly male and white. The history textbooks didn't contain not one item about Asian or women. It is unjust! One writer went back to her ancestral land where she learned that women were submissive, obedient.Their feet were bounded. Yes, this was in China. All women back thenwere concubines, servants, mistresses, etc. I've never felt this way cause I've got good Chinese role models from Hong Kong=I watched Chinese movies and sometimes serials. I like many different kinds of Chinese music, mostly from Hong Kong.
Also, wherever Asians go, even if they born here in America or even Canada, they looks are a dead giveaway that they don't belong. Some get called derogatory names. Some feel if they go back to their ancestral land, they feel like they belong. Boy, were they wrong! The way the Asian American girls act, but mostly it's the way they dress and talk in little or no knowledge or their native tongue. So if they don't belong in the States and if they don't belong in their ancestral land, then I guess they're in limbo. Living in San Francisco, there is a wide multicultural ethnicity, so I never ever feel like I don't belong. Maybe people do take advantage of me when I travel to China or Hong Kong? I remember I was pickpocketed once if my brother hadn't been there. As for me, all of best friends from my younger days were Caucasians, so I never felt out of place cause went to a multidiverisity school. A coupl/a of my friends were Asian Americans. Now, I've got nothing to say about this cause I've lost touch w/ them.
The next section, Family Ties, is about how different (American) Caucasian families relate differently to Asian families.All Asian families want is for their kids to succeed and all Caucasian families want their kids is more independence. Speaking from experience, my parents never show affection toward each other or toward us kids. Neither did my grandparents. I just assume it was just the Chinese culture. Whenever they kiss or say 'I love you' I just surprise me. They never see the good points ( like was any); they just point out my flaws.  They just at me.I guess they were looking out for me, but sometimes I feel stifle by their protectiveness.
Dolly Rage: This section is about assimilating into America, but at what cost?
 In elementary school, I always have a crush on the Caucasian boys-they were and still are- best friends. One was a brunette w/ brown eyes (obviously) and the other was blond and had blue eyes. I knew I had no chance w/ them 'cause they were Caucasians. And maybe it was 'cause I shy. Besides, my parents wanted me to settle down w. a nice Chinese boy. As I learned in this book that Chinese, no make that all Asians, are taught to be demure and shy, my parents wanted me to be more outgoing.I do like talking about myself sometimes. My parents wanted me to be more outgoing b/c I was extremely shy. All that aside, when I was younger, I wish I look like my Caucasian friends-tall, willowy, not to mention blond, maybe freckles. I mean, why didn't I get freckles? (Later on, I learned that only Irish or people of Irish descent get freckles.)
Finding My Voice: This section is about identity. Do you feel like you are Asian or American?
Here's my two cents: when I was growing up, my grandparents, esp. my grandmother, would raise us the Asian way along w/ my mother. My grandmother believed in Buddhism. She would burn paper w/ sacred words every Chinese New Year, and not before she blessed everybody in the family: for my parents that they would have a prosperous year for their business and for us kids that we would get goood grades in school. My dad called her superstitious.
Of course, there's also the meals she prepared during Chinese New Year and every special occasion like our birthdays. Make that every nite. Unlike some American meals filled with appetizting food. Chinese dinner usually has a bowl -or more if you're big eaters like my cousins. How boring and mundane. But American meals are fun!
On the other hand, when I go to school, I would have all these American interests. When we were little, my brother and I would like to watch all kinds of American sports, esp. baseball (Go Giants!), foootball (the undefeated Niners!), and of course my mom, who was a basketball star herself in school liked watching basketball (Yeah, Warriors).
I would also immersed myself in teen magazines (I've a subscription to 16) and pop culture since I'm not great a student (That's not saying much!) I would rather read fiction than study/ The only non-fiction I ever read was about the latest up-and-coming stars.
I've had this question from time to time when I was with my Caucasian friends. My parents, grandparents never did understood why I would put the posters of my favorite celebs up on the walls or who they were. I just said I like them. Whenever I talked with my brother in English, my grandparents didn't understand what I was saying since they're only fluent in Chinese Cantonese. I only spoke with my friends and brother in English and spoke to my grandparents and parents in Chinese. Nowadays, I speak to my parents in both Chinese and English. So which culture would you say I am?  I would say a little of both. I never felt like I didn't belong althoug my parents did push me to make more Chinese friends. Maybe 'cause my brother have more Chinese friends?
Girlwind: Emerging Voices for Change: How can one person the world, make a difference? It's even harder if you're a woman or a person of color. I mean, will the majority even listen to you, never mind show respect to you?
Take a stand
Fight for a cause
you believe in
Never stop
Make a difference-
in the lives of someone or the world at large
Make a change
No one's gonna do it for you
You may be the minority of race or sex
But soon,
People will take notice
And you won't be the minority any longeroo-
You will overcome all obstacles
to become the majority!
Bitter Times
We've fallen on bitter, trying times.
People are being laid off left and right. Without money, they won't be able to feed their families. Their families'll go hungry (unless both parents work, but what if it's only a single-parent family?) If they don't have money, how'll they paid this month? Not only do they have to worry about the numerous mouths they need to feed, they also need to worry about their roof over their heads. Some people live from paycheck to paycheck, but without that paycheck, they're screwed. They just might end up homeless and hopeless. Homeless because they can't paid rent cause they don't have a job. Hopeless because in this hopeless, endlessly long recession, there is no way in chance that there will be any more jobs available in this economy.
This so-called recession might as well be called the Depression of the New Millennium because I think practically the whole world is affected by the recession created by the worst president in United States history, George Weasel Bush.
And what's worse, the holidays are coming up. I know, I know. Homeless are known to be mental ill are drug-addicts, but couldn't they just be poor? How can homeless feed their families, give gifts to their kids (if they have any). For some people, it won't be a happy holiday for them because they're homeless. I guess they'll have to depend on the kindness of strangers for help, but why don't peohelp the homeless year-round? They should help them year-round, not just around the holidays.
Peace
Far East Movement (FM)
Love ya guys!
Finally, at long last, an Asian hip-hop/pop boy band! (All music nowadays, I think, now has a tinged of hip-hop in it even though its mainstay is pop. An example is Enrique Iglesias' I Like It.) They make good house/club (dance) music. You know that song Like A G6, that's theirs. They're da bomb! Lovin' 'em more n' more as I learn more n' more about 'em. I'm not gonna give a whole complete bio of FM, but one thing I'll tell ya is they're from L.A. Probably being from L.A. give 'em the push they needed to get started in the music biz.
What's more, they're HOT! They're musically talented and also easy on the eyes.
Also, the guys are coming to SF on Oct 30 (yes, day b4 Halloween-I hope nothing bad befalls 'em!) for a concert at the Regency Ctr. Too bad it's sold out :( ! Oh, well. At least it's not too late to get their CD. It has just been released.
Later,
XOXO
Dreams...
Don't let anyone get in the way of your dreams
Make it happen
Aspire to be the best you can possibly be no matter what
Let no one doubt you
You can attain your impossible dreams
even if it's most unlikely to happen
Reach for the most stellar of stars
Dream the impossible
and make it happen
with one snap of a finger (if you're poor lil rich gal)
or perseverance thru hard work n' drive
Review: Smuin Ballet
Boy, did I get an eyeful the other nite at the Smuin Ballet!
Not only were they great dancers, they were great eye candy! Wish they were my arm candy!
But one thought ran thru me as I watched 'em dance, mostly modern dancc, those guys might be gay. I mean, guys were dancing w/ guys.
But I don't care 'bout that. Damn, they were gorgeous! They were -oh-so-fine! It also doesn't hurt that
that they were talented dancers!
Maybe I was ogling them? I can't help it; they were so hot! Great eye candy!
SF Giants-NL West Champs!
It's been a long time coming since 2004 but they made it this far. They're so in the playoffs now! First the playoffs, then the championships, then who knows? Maybe the World Series!
But I have my doubts... Are they on some kind of steroids or something? Maybe they've became champs thru enduring hardwork, thru guts, blood and sweat. They won't be scandalized again like Barry Bonds was. They could become champs thru hardwork-enduring drive, perspiration is the key to success. Is it hard to believe that they became champs thru hardwork and not by using drugs. They came a  long way, baby!
On Thursday, they take on the Oakland As. If I was a betting kind of gal, which I'm not, I would place my bets on the Giants. It's the battle of the bay. May the best team (Giants) win! I think they will win 'cause they're gonna play at AT&T, their home turf.
Go Giants! Bring it home, baby!
Columbus Day or Native American Day
Why do we even have Columbus Day?! Columbus and his cronies were murderers in every way possible....
He did not discover American; he invaded it w/ his European sailors. He brought disease to the New World like scurvy. When he and his fellow sailors tried to bring back the Indians back to Europe, he ended up killing them. When he got to the New World, he killed the Indians by chopping their hands off and scalping their hair off their heads.
Oracle Mtg
There was an Oracle Global Marketing mtg down at Meteron. I saw most of the people that went up to the mtg. were mostly white male and a few women-I realized even though it's the 21st century,  it's still a male-dominated world. The glass ceiling hasn't been broken yet, though there are cracks to the class ceiling. We women have made many advancements:Hilary Clinton is Secretary of State. We women'll shatter the glass ceiling someday! We shall overcome any adversity! As the song goes, someday things will get better, someday things will get brighter.
Rich vs. Poor
From a certain show I watch, the rich folks are mostly white folks who think they can push around the poor folks. They think they're above the law, that they can get away with anything because of their name. It isn't right. They shouldn't be allowed to push the lower class around just 'cause they came from money. They shouldn't push the lower class, who are depicted as Latinos and African Americans, around just 'cause they're from the upper class, who are depicted as white class.
Courage
Ever since I got back from my vacay, I've been such a fradey cat. I guess I like being sheltered and taken care of by my parental units these past coupla of weeks. I know I should have more courage, be more courageous, but I can't help it. I like being taken care of. I guess cuz I'm the baby of the family (my immediate family, that is). I like depending on my mom n' dad. I like leaning on others for help, literally. I'm scared of heights and other minor things like other loud, crazy thing. The least things just startle me like people talking loudly or I am afraid that a bowl will come crashing down on me when I'm trying to take it down from the cupboard.
/For once, I wish I was more courageous. Sure, I'm courageous enough to watch a slasher flick, but that's just entertainment... I want to be more courageous in life.
CAC-Client Advisory Committee
Maybe I'm just tired from my cold...
But I don't see any point in the CAC anymore.
We're not making any difference in the lives of our peers.
We're not making any changes in their lives.
What's the point in the CAC?
Meetings, meetings, meetings run amok!
Yes, more meetings
Til I died...
All words and no actions
C'mon, do something
Make a difference!
Or else I'm gonna bail!
Joy of Buns
Due to unforseen circumstances, my microenterprise is opening later than expected. The name has changed less whimisical than Chinese Curiosity Box to Joy of Buns. I thought it was supposed to opened this Friday, y'know, guys, right after my vacation? But we have to work on this and that kink. To s-m-o-o-t-h it out. But, man, I already emailed my friends about the business being opened this Friday. But I did emailed them and put it on Facebook about the change, so it's no prob.
Life is sort of like a small biz world-you never know what's problems you might find along tbe way, and if there are problems, you just gotta deal. That's life.
Life is lesson learned and a lesson taught-all the way thru and thru.
Back to the Daily Grind...
Hi y'all! I"m back! And I'm rearing to go back to the daily grind that is work, school, etc. despite this awful cold I got over there. If you wanna know what kind of fun (or not!) I had over in China, you best read, my personal journal 'cuz I'm not gonna rewrite everything over again.
I missed being aroung hi-tech gadgets though. I felt stranded like I was on some sort of island, not on vacation. But I guess that's what vacation is all about: to be cut off from others while having fun. The main point of a vacation is to have fun. Fun in the humid weather that is China. Despite the long lines (somewhat like Disneyland) at the World Expo, it was kinda of fun to go to see the different countries pavilion and how they represented their countries. Cool! (Although the weather as I said before wasn't cool, it was humid...)
...And She's Off!
I'm going, going, and I'm gone!
As of tomorrow, I'll be on the plane to guess where?
Shanghai, China-to go to the World Expo! I'm so totally psyched, I'm so totally stoked, whatever! No more schedules to content w/ (unless you count the travel itinerary, then it's rush, rush, rush till you lost all meaning of 'fun'). I can hardly wait to go to the World Expo, see what they have there. Last time I went was back in 87 in Vancouver when I was a mere babe, a tween, if that's they called them nowadays. Back then, the mascot was an astronaut.
I wonder what differences there will be this time around...? I know from the web and from a friend that went there that each country has its own pavilion. That's about it.
More interesting tidbits later on....
Hope life will stop for me while I'm gone, and if not, then keep on truckin'!
Won't be back to blogging till Sept 11 (yep, that Sept. 11-sounds ominous) Well, wish me luck on my journey to China and on my return trip home. I, unfortunately, will have to close up shop till Sept. 11, but don't worry, I'll still write the old-fashioned way-pen (or pencil, whichever is available, natch!) to paper.
Don't get heartsick w/o me! ;P
Dream a Little Dream
Dream BIG-
You never know what you might achieve
Dream of fallen stars-
Make a wish
Upon the fallen stars
Is it an asteroid or a meteorite?
Hopefully it's just your wish coming true
Hold onto your faith-
without it your dreams will
perish...
Reality Check
We need to respect our planet earth 'cause global warming is killing our precious planet. Just positively killing it! Global warming is here already, and we can't do a darn thing about it! By the time it reach us, we'll be dead 'cause global warming would have killed us all! (Sorry I'm being so doggone morbid, but that's reality.)
People won't able to stand the suffocating air of global warming, and they'll attack eack other, positively spontaneously combust. They might attack each other using weapons of mass destruction and might just end up killing each other rather than let global warming get the best (or the worse!) of them.
The world, as we know it, will turned into chaos! Pandemonium! Crazy things'll happen!
You can point fingers at human error, but it's up to you to repair the damage make by your respective kind. Do something to make a difference in the lives of someone less knowledgeable than you! Volunteer! Be an inspiration to an individual or a group in your local community! Be a positive influence! The list goes on...
Greenlovin'
Who we are anyway?
We are just borrowing the earth for a short while. Nothing is really ours for the keeping. I mean, I don't mean to sound like a cynic, but all our material goods will be worthless in the next century or the next millienum 'cause nothing is really ours. It's more like God's, who created the world, or if you wanna get all scientific about it, the Big Bang Theory created the world. The apes are our ancestors, not Adam and Eve, who brought sinto this world, but God brought temptation by creating the snake who tempted them with an apple much like the wicked stepmother in Snow White did.
When we died, we go to another world (Heaven or Hell), without our prized possessions. We actually don't take any material possessions with us although the pharoahs way back in Egypt were mummified with their treasure, but I bet when they crossed to the other side, they didn't only brought their souls with them although in their mindset they thought everything, including their most valued possessions will be brought with them in the afterlife. If we go to Heaven, we take our hearts with us. If we go to Hell, we take our souls with us. This is why we shouldn't obssess over material goods; we should just respect ourselves: our mind, body and soul. We also respect our borrowed time on this sacred earth 'cause we don't know when we might go.
As for me, I believe in reincarnation. I believe we don't turn into decompose into skeletal form or turn into ash although I thought about it immensely. However we were as humans, we become better or worse off than originally. Like a catepiller morphing into a butterfly, we can come back as a venomous butterfly (Is there such a thing?) or we can come back as a beautiful, awestuck butterfly.
Keepin' It Real
Let's keep it real!
Be true to yourself
Don't let the naysayers put you down
                                    belittle you
Be yourself
Stay gold
               always and forever
Always follow your heart
                                intuition
                                gut
                                 hunch
Don't anybody change you
you're prefect the way you are!
even though you have flaws
you're flawless imprefection!
i know that's an oxymoron, but whatever...
Everybody is their own person
                            an individual
                           (including twins)
Joan Jett-Queen of Rock n' Roll
Joan Jett's my idol. She should be the known as the 'Queen of Rock n' Roll,' she's so good. She's a groundbreaking singer, being that she started the first girl group, Runaways w/ Cherie Curry in '75. Their hit song is Cherry Bomb. After Runaways disbanded in '79, she went solo and started her own recording label, Blackheart Records. She started her own recording label cuz her album was rejected by recording companies in the US. Her self-titled debut was released in Europe on May 17, 1980. She then started her own band,  Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Their most popular song is I Love Rock 'n Roll. I Love Rock 'n Roll was a hit for the first half of 1982 for 7 weeks in a row; it is Billboard #28 song of all time.
Although she started out as a teen, she didn't let fame go to her head. She kept a levelhead. She didn't let peer pressure get to her. In this day and age, that's an admirable quality because a lot of stars from Young Hollywood think they're invincible so they're willing to try anything, which include drugs, alcohol, anything. I saw her movie Runaways, she really didn't try any drugs or let peer pressure get to her. She just focus on being successful, on what she loves to do. To me, she's gold. She'll always be gold, forever n' ever, shining like the star she is.
Horror Stories vs. Horror Movies
There's really no diff except horror stories is more verbally graphic-you use your own interpretation, your own imagination to follow the story. Plus, you can read it over and over again.
In movies, it's more visually graphic-it's all guts n' gore. You can interpret any way you want with the visual effects. If you're in a theatre, (in my humble opinion, i don't ever watch slasher flicks in the theatre. i like watching it at home when the lites are on, thank you very much!), you can't playback. However, if you have a DVD, you could playback. But who would? I mean, who would want to see the same killing, the same exorcism over and over again?
Enjoy! Sweet Dreams! Beware of the Bogyeman!
Venus Love Trap
Love is unattainable
if you dream big
Love would be attainable (not celebs but a real person not from reality shows)
if you know 'em well 'nuff like a friend turn lover, as in when friendship turn into a deep n' meaningful relationship
you see sparks fly when you are madly, deeply, head-over-heels in love with the person
when love is an island-that is, when everything n' everyone disappears n' it seems like you two are the only ones alive or of importance.
Taio Cruz-R&B Artist
I wish I can be like those girls in his videos
I wish I was one of those girls in his videos
All flirtatious,
Devil-may-care 'tude
Lovin'
Caressin'
He's so fine-
Flaunt it, baby boy, if you know what's good for you!
You're H-h-h-hot stuff-
You're Dynamite!
Love you till the end of time, baby doll!
You are such a total heartbreaker
with your irrestible looks (incl. bedroom eyes) and charm
in your romantic lyrics and videos
Betcha you break a lot of lil girls' hearts
when you were a babe
leaving them in the dust
Now you're breaking millions of hearts
with your entrancing, hypnotizing songs of love
You are what so many want
but can't have
Here's a lil background info on my latest love interest:
Born in London and raised by a Nigerian father and a Brazilian mother, he became a songwriter for many well-known singers. He just now debut his first album, Departure which will became a multi-platinum! well, I wouldn't go that far, but maybe overseas in the UK it became a hit sensation! His latest album, Rokstarr, is mostly written & produced by him although it's coproduced and cowritten by mostly UK producers & writers.
Love ya, babes!
Love Songs
You can serenade me anytime using your sensuous, pouty lips, you sexy young stud! He is nothing like Drake 'cuz he only, I think, sings love songs. Drake is into hip hop music while Jay Sean is mostly into love songs. He's my new boy (Justin Bieber doesn't count 'cuz he's too immature, too inexperience to know what love is like; I guess it's no prob to sing about love but still)! (Besides, Jay Sean doesn't swear, and Drake does.)
Love (in Jay Sean) is so fine right now. Sure, Justin Bieber is a sweetheart and a cutie pie, but how far can love go w/ an adorable baby? And what does JB know about love anyways? He's only 16. Sweet Jay Sean is so fine, ok, it doesn't hurt that his music-that both their music-is sick.
JB can sing of  oh, gosh, puppy love, crushes and first love. (Aw, shucks!) Jay Sean sing of love, love, love. (I love you so!) You are my boy!
Jay Sean,
You warm up my heart
like a warm summer's day.
You make me feel
all warm n' tingly inside.
You make me feel
nice n' warm even on a cold day.
Love carries no bounds.
You are my studmuffin.
You can serenade me anytime
w/ your wonderful, sensuous pouty lips.
Kiss me hungrily.
Love me
till your next album goes platinum
Justin Bieber,
You're a cute, wonderful darling
Going right for the puppy loves,
                              first love,
                              crushes
You are a teen hearttrob
Ev'ry young girl's sweet fantasy
Wishing they were your bf
Love will last forever in your teenaged mind
Think you're invincible
Till your heart gets broken
Into a billion pieces.
Dog Days of Summer
What a long, boring summer. I wish it would end already! This is a gonna be the same old boring summer as last year going to Yerba Buena Gardens Fest.  More like a snooze fest. Catch some zzzs.
This summer, I've made some new friends, but nothing else exciting happening.
However, I'm counting down the endless upon endless days till I go on vacation (w/ my folks, natch!) Keep y'all posted!
Celebrities At Their Worse
Who cares about Lindsay Lohan? She got her just dessert for missing out on her alcohol intervention classes. If she only took it more seriously... 2.3 million viewers for her court appearance filmed by TMZ. That's more than she ever grossed for any movie she ever made (including Mean Girls). The public only cares about her personal life, not her so-called 'career' in music or movies as an actress or a singer. She seems high half the time anyways. She has to wear the alcohol monitoring anklet till she surrenders.
Girl, the secret to gettting high is to know your limits, and not get too crazy! Crazy girl! thinks she can get away with stuff just 'cuz she's a celeb or used to be one anyways. She's getting jail time and rehab. Maybe she will learn her lesson, clean up her act.
She is just like her father. Her father served time in jail. Now's her turn. Like father, like daughter, huh? I wonder what her lil sis thinks of her. She was in the courtroom w/ her when the judge handed down the sentence. Some role model.
What a loser. She's so pathetic, she's had to cry crocodile tears. What a fake. Nobody cares about her as an actress (or a singer). They only care about her personal life.
I just heard (or rather, read) she got a new lawyer. Her previous lawyer quit on her 'cuz she thought the sentence was unfair. Who said life was fair? Well, her new lawyer, Robert Shapiro, (yep, the very same lawyer who represented O.J. Simpson on the double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson & her friend Ronald Goldman) won't reprented her unless she goes to jail for 90 days and then to rehab for 90 days. Sounds fair, huh? 'Cuz his son OD on drugs. LiLo'll have to surrender to police custody on Tuesday, July 20. How did things go downhill for her? So sad. I hope all 3 months in jail and then 3 months in rehab will straighten her out. Jail wouldn't help; I hope she can survive in jail-I hope she'll get toughen up. But jail time won't kill her drug habit; it will only make her yearn for it more. Why didn't they sentence her to more days in rehab? Like an in-patient rehab facility? Kinda of like house arrest but it is really rehab. Maybe 'cuz she broke her probation?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you hear about Mel Gibson's latest rant? He is so totally, completely out of line when he called his baby mama all those derogatory names. Why didn't she stand up for herself? In a way, she sort of did. She recorded him and somehow the internet got ahold of it.
William Morris dropped him right after the death of his longtime agent. No agent would represent him
again. No way, no how. But I guess he doesn't need an agent 'cuz he already has made a name for himself. He has a rep; however bad it is.
Not only was he awful toward his baby mama (and all women), he is a racist. A big bigot. A bully. He's nothing but a big bully. Serves him right that his talent agency dropped him. He doesn't even got any talent at all.
It all started w/ his drunken anti-Semitic rant and going on about Holocast never
happenning when he was pulled over for DUI. And all this from the guy who made Passion of Christ. Unbelivable! Can you believe him? The audacity!
The public'll never forgive him for this recent rant.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Celebs are not the only ones w/ a loser, pathetic attitude written all over them. These are just a couple of losers (Alec Baldwin calling his daughter Ireland by Kim Basinger a 'pig,' Namoi Campbell who threw things around at her assistants 'cuz she got anger  management issues) who are celeblosers. They think they can get away treating other people who are 'inferior' to them 'cuz they are celebrities. Celebrities are not the only ones who have a loser quality to them. There's a lots of other ordinary people who are totally losers who are in DUI, dosmetic violence all the time. They just don't get paparazzi attention 'cuz they're not celeblosers. Sometimes rehab actually work and sometimes you have to fight fire w/ fire by serving time in jail so that they can clean up their act. As for dosmetic violence, you gotta get out before you die if you're the victim. Otherwise, go get some anger management classes before you snap. You have no right to take your anger out on anyone. Or to put down anyone for their race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. Don't be a pathetic loser. Take control of your life before it controls you.
Takin' Chances
Takin' chances
Takin' the leap of faith
There's no boundaries
There's no limits
We can reach the unlimitless of 'em all.
We can exceed all expectations above all expectations
So go for it-
Go for the gold!
The sky's the limit!
So reach for the stars!
Taylor Swift Rocks!
She is phenomenal! She is inspirational!
Like all country songs, her songs portray a sort of sweet innocence to it all. I hate old-fashioned country music- they are all the same; they remind me of square dancing n' love lost. I love contemporary country music like Taylor Swift. It's all about being romantic and such. Listening to her makes me feel all warm n' gooey inside. Oh, yeh. I love her songs each n' every last one of 'em! Kudos for her! No wonder she won so many awards in the past year! Good for her! May the good times keep on continuing!
Love & Peace in Utopia
Love & Peace Forevermore
Wait till the sunset
See the sunrise
There is no other time
Like tomorrow
Love'll still be here forever n' ever...
Till early morn' 'morrow
We shall see
Love prevails all evil-
Yes-even the nasty ones!
There will be
 Mucho dancin'!
and
Mucho singin'!
and
Mucho rejoicin'!
Oh let's reckon
we shall overcome all evil
and survive only on faith
                                love
                                peace
                                happiness
There will be no more
                       no more
                                    troubles
Let's just relax n'
Have a good time
Enjoy life to the fullest!
There's no time like
                               NOW!
So go forth-
                    enjoy yourself
                    as they said,
                                        you only live once
                     unless you're a cat
                                                  then you have nine lives
Love me, Love me not
Is it a bad thing to be cocky?
If not,
Here goes:
I'm da bomb!
I'm spectacular (in every possible way)!
Damn, I'm fine!
I'm your sweetheart
                              Love me til no end
I'm hot, not cold
                          Stick w/ me n' I'll warm you right up!
Love has no boundaries!
W/ me,
            Love is ceaseless!
 Reach for the unattainable love
No question about it!
Remembering Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson-the one & only King of Pop
No one can emulate him
He left an legacy behind and how!
                                     through his music
                                                 his dancing
                                                 his military outfits
He had a childlike quality-
            an innocence all his own
            in the world of Neverland-
                                                    where he didn't want to grow up
No one can top him
They can tried to emulate his ways
But he will forever be the true King of Pop! :(
How Celebs Influence Ordinary Folks
I don't care about dos and donts of celebrity fashion. Why don't the paparazzi leave celebrities alone? They can't even go to the grocery story, wearing scrummy clothes w/o the paps at their heels, never mind at their front doors. But don't the most celebs live in a gated community? Nowadays even the reality stars, celebutants get exposure! Can you believe it? They don't even know the meaning of making it in Hollywood! It takes hard work to be successful in this biz. And here they are prancing around like some trust fund baby. I don't believe it!
Who's cares what they do to they do their bodies? Pierce, tattoo, botox, and a hundred different kinds of plastic surgery!  (To be truthful, I do! I'm totally into celebrity gossip. It kinda influence me that I should do some work on myself.) Well, I'm digress again... It's a shame that models and other celebrities can't appreciate their bodies. They all have to starve themselves to become bulimic or anorexic or until they died. (But believe you me, even I have my own body image issues, influenced by my folks.)
Oh, Behave, Lady Gaga!
Why don't you live up to your name, Lady Gaga, and act more ladylike? Acting up like giving your fans and paparazzi the obscence gesture during a baseball game is not ladylike behavior. You should act more ladylike 'cuz impressionable kids look up to you.
You may be an artist. ls artist even the right word? Oh, yea, that'sright! You're a performance artist! You sure don't act the part! Last year was your year; this not so much... Is that why your acting out 'cuz your not doing good musically? So are you doing all this for attention, so that you can get more notice as a musician, er, performance artist, whatever. You shouldn't be upgraded to the VIP section, Jerry Seinfeld's VIP section, no less, after you acted that way! You shoulda been kicked! Yes, you \read that right! Kicked out! A regular person would've been kicked out, but cuz you're a celebrity you've been upgraded to the VIP section. And not only that, you were allowed in the clubhouse dressed way down! Women had come a long way from being demeaned cuz of the way we act or dress. Do you like to be a men's sexual object? I guess it comes with being a celebrity or not? that you get all these perks. Lady Gaga, you're so last year!  No one cares about you anymore, Lady Gaga! You demean us women the way you dress and you think you're such hot property (You're not!)
I bet you act up in public to get notice, to get attention. Well it's unwanted attention! Nobody likes you anymore! You can act up all you want; no one cares 'cept maybe the paps (get a life! no, I mean, a meaningful life, not one where you guys chase celebs all day n' all nite long)
Note. This year is Ke$ha's year! Boo-ya! She's on top! And also Justin Bieber! .
My Musical Preferences
I love bubblegum pop 'cuz it makes me feel good inside. Nice n' warm, that's what I want.  I love songs w/ some kind of meaning or dancable beat. I don't like hogwash. I don't like music or music videos that have discrimination towards others. I like fun, dancable videos and music. There are music out there that are just to damn depressing. And there are music that put down a certain group of people I don't agree w/. Music should make one feel good about themselves, not bad about themselves, don't you agree? But I guess that's how people express themselves, right?! Anyway, I like upbeat music that gets you going, that get you moving, you dig? That's why I play music in the morning before the day starts, so that it helps me to keep moving! Groovy, man!
Here's links to a coupla, ok, a few of my fave-now defunct-bands from overseas. You don't want to know the nitty-gritty details of their backstory, but they created great bubblegum pop! Here's a listen:
A Class Act
Not to be too boastful or anything (like that)
But I'm in a class of my own
I'm an original
There's no one like me
Aren't we all unique in one or another?
To each its own
I am good at words,
depending on how you use 'em,
whether for wit or prose or poetry
Everybody got their own skills-
Name one-
I dare you!
I double dare you!
I triple dare you!
There must be something good about y'all!
Everybody has skills-
Whether it's hidden or showing
We are all in a class of our own!
'Cause we are all unique in our ways
Listen to Us, Politicos, We Got Something to Say!
Sorry to be a cynic, but does all the protesting & rallying really, truly work? I'm not trying to discourge anyone. By all means, go out, make your voices be heard, no one will listen. I mean, as if! Politicos are just a buncha of liars, hypocritics. Arnold 'Terminator' Schwarzenegger said he'll help the little kids w/ their after-school programs, but now he's cutting, I mean, terminating the after-school programs. He's a liar n' hypocrite as all politicans are, as I'm sure y'all know. That's why I'm anti-politics. Politicans, you're just a buncha liars n' hypocritcs.
They make everything into a politican issue including personal issues such as stuff that should be kept behind the bedroom door like infidelity (Yea, I'm talking about you, Bill Clinton and all the other cheating politicans). Infidelity shouldn't become a political issue. It should be a personal issue between the husband n' wife n' the other person.
But on the other hand, if they committed a crime, it shouldn't be made into a political crime. It should be a crime. They make everything into a political issue. Get a life! Talk about the real issue like what to do to end the war or how to stop global warming.
Peace
Hip-Hop Artists
I've noticed something from listening and watching their videos to Hip-Hop a lot lately-mostly Cash Money Records- is that they're pretty cocky. They announce who they are, and if they are part of Cash Money, they say it somewhere in their songs, mostly in the beginning or ending. I guess they want to give credit where credit is due. They think life is just handed to 'em, which is half right. Don;t they need to work hard to maintain success? 'Nuff 'bout 'em their cocky at their best, but at their worst they swear... but they don't lots of people do that nowadays? I like ole school hip-hop better, where there wasn't no swearing. At least it some sort of meaning. Nowadays, hip-hop has lost all its meaning.
If it wasn't for Drake....
Speaking of Drake, I hate hip-hop music w/ explicit content no matter how cute the guy is or how sexy he sounds. I do not in any form, type, manner dislike profanity cause it bugs me.  Drake is cute and he has a sexy voice, but when it comes down to it, I hate his language. His swearing gets to me, no matter how cute or sexy he sounds. I tend to shy away from music that makes me feel bad about myself, and listening to music w/ explicit content tend to make me feel bad about myself even though it's not talking about me. I guess, m' dears, I'm in a love-hate relationship w/ Drake.
Peace ;P
Let's Go on a Psychedelic Ride!
Let's live for the moment
Live in the zone
Nowadays, we don't need LSD, marijuana
To get the high we so crave
We can get it with yearning desire
By just living in the moment
Not worrying
what's done is done
what will come
Just worrying
about living in the moment
                    in the present
                    in the here and now
Life's a trip
As it is
So live and let live!
Live it up
Don't worry about
the past or future
Just live for the moment
Havin' fun now?
Don't need to get high to feel high
Living life is pure ecstasy
as it is
Get high on life
Happy Memorial Day!
Factoid: Memorial Day's the beginning of summer, and it ends w/ Labor Day. We celebrate Memorial Day w/ BBQ and maybe we should have fireworks? Nah, that's reserved for 4th of July.
Anyways, we should remember our troops who are stationed here and overseas. May God keep them safe and out of harm's way. Bless them for serving our country.They are representing our country, so let's take a moment of silence. Not just go to the Memorial Day sales or the Memorial Day BBQ or any other Memorial Day festivities. Now is the time to pray, reflect on the veterans who have and will be serving our country. Pray for the wounded at Walter Reed, that they may make a full recovery. And for those that weren't injured, may they make a speedy recovery through their post traumatic stress syndrome. Let's honor the vets who seen the worse; there will be better times ahead, there just gotta be.
Have a great summer, y'all! Enjoy! Live for the moment, don't think about the past or what lies ahead cuz you don't know what the future will brings!
RIP Dennis Hopper
A legend has died one day apart from yet another actor (Gary Coleman). Although I myself have never watched any-I mean any- of his movies, I heard, ok, more like read, that he was a rebel as a young man. His role model was James Dean. He wanted to be a rebel like James Dean, may be rest in peace. When he became to 'difficult' to work w/ he turned to directing. Then when that didn't work out, he returned to acting, acquiring a few prizes along the way. But it was a smooth road to success. It had its rough patches. I mean, he attempted suicide a couple of times, then was sent to rehab. He returned to acting. Didn't direct for at least 18 years. Was an art collector. Last public appearance was when he went to get his Hollywood Walk of Fame. It's great that he got his star on his Hollywood Walk of Fame before his passing. He deserved it after all his struggles and hard work, he was recognized before his death. What a sendoff! He died from advanced prostrate cancer at 74, so he must have lived a happy, fulfilling life since he got a big family with kids and grandkids and all that. Also his fans'll missed him dearly. My heart'll go out to his family and friends and most of all, his fans. My condolences. God bless his soul. : (
XOXO ;P
                 Hard as rock on the inside-
How Kid Actors Make Something of Themselves
It is a hard-earned road to success. Once you get there, you gotta stay on top. Otherwise, you come crashing down headlong. Be careful or else you'll get burned! Crash and burn! It doesn't helped that the paparazzi are always dodging at your heels. They don't let you live your life. The question is: Do you give them what they want or go with the flow? It is easy to tear down a reputation than to build one cause it takes hard work to build a good, solid reputation; with one word or one action, all your hard work will go down the tubes.
You may be cute once, but you gotta get your grip on reality by steering clear of the bad. When things don't go your way or when things are going bad for you, don't despair, there's always a sliver lining in the cloud, a shiny egg in a bunch of rotten eggs, etc. Just don't give up hope. And don't mix with the bad crowd where drugs, alcohol, sex could become addictive. There is always hope. Hope for the future. Get out of the slum and rise to the occasion to be a role model, set an example for the youngsters who don't know any better and who look up to you. Don't let scandal eat you alive. Prove them how wrong they all are by become in general a role model for the kids: selfless, giving, kind, generous. If you give, then others will do the same. Don't judge a book by its covers; know them first. The paparazzi only are doing their jobs, putting scandal after scandal about the latest stars.
