Review:The Runaways

Though I don't condone the actions of the young teenaged band, the Runaways-Joan Jett's first band, which included the underage drinking, drug use, profanity (stuff we all heard before) it was overall a good-make that outstanding! movie. It tells how Joan Jett started the band the Runaways w/ Cherie Curry, who left after 1 year for family reasons. Remember 'Cherry Bomb'?! But even though Cherie Curry didn't continued singing-she went onto acting-Joan Jett started her own band, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. Remember 'I Love Rock n' Roll'? Then she went solo.
I guess they went their separate ways, but remain friends. I mean, they were at the premiere of Runaways except for one member, whose name I forgot because I didn't really know 'em well. They were around before my time.
Peace Out ;P

If Women Rule the World...

I pledge allegiance to the melting pot of the United States of America and to the democracy for which it stands, one nation under girl indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

If the world was only run by women, we wouldn't be in this economic depression. Sure, we girls like to spend money (shopping!) but we also like saving (saving for a new car). We would save the necessities like child care b/c of our maternal instiincts, no budget cuts of any kind for us! We know how it feels to be treated like less than equal.
In this alternate universe, women would end violence before it starts. No more wars n' destruction n' unnecessary loss of lives :(  How would women end war before it starts? Talking peacefully over a homemade meal will do the trick.
Everybody would have a job; they would be employed. There would be no such thing as downsizing, layoffs, or recession. Here's an idea: women would earn way more than men who did nothing. They would earn money for being homemakers-it is a difficult job; it's nothing and I mean nothing compare to bringing home the bacon. Homemakers and single-parents- not only single mothers- would get paid more than men who work at an office or anyplace outside of the home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not to be a cynic, but not all women are nice. One of my so-called friends, who's supposed to be my friend, talked about me behind my back. When I did something bad in turn-something I don't want to repeat right here for fear of retribution even though it happened oh-so-long-ago-she spread the word that I was a bad person so I got a bad reputation thruout the rest of my elementary school years and  high school years. I still get paranoid that people are talking, laughing,  just in general making fun of me behind my back.
I HATE HER! and yet she's one of my facebook 'friends.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even I have flaws, not everyone, including us ladies are perfect. When I was a kid, I acted terribly towards one of my friends, who had long hair.I love, just looooove pulling her hair. Looking back, I know how terrible I was. Oh, well let by gones be by gones.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If women rule the world, it would be in chaos, with no boundaries.Everybody would be so totally, completely spoiled rotten b/c mothers wouldn't give in to their children. They would throw temper tantrums until their daddies give in to their every possible whim. Daddies favor their lil ones more than the mothers b/c they spoil their spawn oh-so-much. Oh,, mothers care and tend to children, but it's the daddies who spoil 'em rotten.
If they're spoiled as children, they're expected to be spoiled as adults too.Little girls grow up spoiled w/ stuffed animals and dolls.When they grow up, the expect to be spoiled w/ jewerly, clothes, men and much more! Spoiled little boys expected to be showered with expensive video games/video game systems, etc, etc. When they reach adulthood, these spoiled lil boys expect more like fancy jewerly, fast cars, women, and much more!
We can't have this kind of world, where everybody is spoiled. It is the parents' duty to teach their children morals of what is right n' wrong, to know what is to be expected of them, toknow what's appropriate at all times even when your emotions get the best of you. Your parents don't want you to be deprived, but don't be spoiled!
Preview: The Runaways
From what I saw of the preview, The Runaways is da bomb! Make that a 'Cherry Bomb,' which was one of their songs. Sure, the movie, based on the true story of  Joan Jett band Runaways, may be rated R b/c of drugs, sexual innuedo, and language, but who hadn't seen those stuff before, whether it's from video games or whatnot.
I would totally love, looove to see Dakota Fanning & Kirsten Stewart as Cherie Currie & Joan Jett, respectively. My reasons? Well, I heard that Dakota Fanning & Kirsten Stewart actually sings in the movie! Boy, it would be such a riot to watch them or attempt to sing! Another reason I want to watch the movie is cause I want to watch rising actors acting as singers-can them make it? will they break-out as the  next Runaways girl band? Another reason is I dig girl bands! More grrrl power! I think Runaways started it all-started the evolution of 3-member girl band. We girls rule!! More grrrl power!
Ms. Independence: On the Road to Independence
I thought being on the road to independence would be so simple. So not the case. Why can't it be simple like following directions to a recipe? If there was only a book or something like it, I'm totally there! Because I'm so insecure, I feel like I can't handle it. I need help and don't mean support;  I mean I need my folks, my 'rents, my padres, or simply put, parents! I can't reiterate anymore than I already have, but sometimes I don't think I can handle it. Even when I do the simplest things on my own, I don't think I can do it. I think it takes guts to be independent; I don't think I'm all that gutsy enough.
Justin Bieber
His youth percedes his age! In this case, talent percedes age! He is so-oh my God-so talented! I LOVE YOU!!! til the ends of time, boy! You are a godsend! You are young n' studly! Love ya!
Not to be critical, but how can he sing about love at such a young age? I mean, how old is he anyways? Thirteen? Sixteen? How does he know about love lost and what love is like when he is too young to have experienced either?
But he is cute, though. And talented to boot! So if you got it, you should flaunt it, right?!
Peace! Have fun n' enjoy life! ;P
Being Yourself: Express Your Individuality
Even though everybody looks the same, minus their complexion, eye color, etc, etc, everybody is their own person. Everyone is their own individual even if you're a twin, too. No two person is alike. That's how a person stands out: by being his/her individual person, by being comfortable in his or her own skin. If you have a out-of-body experience, and I think that's highly unlikely, you might feel like you living in another person's body. It's like no two snowflakes is the same same goes with people.
No two personalities are the same unless you have a personality-cloning machine. Who've thought of it? A personality-cloning machine! How extraordinary! OK, here's how it works: you step into a machine with one type of personality, say, type A. Another person outside of the machine press all these other buttons on the outside of the machine and then clone of you steps out of the machine with the same personality as yours. Bingo! And that's how the personality-cloner works. BUT if everyone in the world have the same personality, it would be insanely, manically boring; we would live like robots. BORING!!
Free Willy! Free the Whales!
I hate how they mistreat animals for entertainment's sake. :( I hate what the pet owners do to the animals on America's Funniest Videos (AFV)! It is disagreeable, to say the least. I mean, they don't care about their pets; they only want the moolah that they get for winning their video or getting their video televised. Animals should be treated with the utmost respect, just like humans should be. Don't mistreat, that is abuse 'em, natch, for the sake of entertainment. Don't practice animal cruelty. I should hate going to the zoo, but I can't believe I'm saying this, but I looove going to the zoo. Zoos abuse and mistreat animals; it is another form of animal cruelty. They exhibit animals for pleasure-seekers, which is a form of animal cruelty. Any form of animal exhibitionism is a form of animal cruelty. It shouldn't happen!
Did you know in Hong Kong they eat dogs? Some people, not in Hong Kong, mind you, eat cats. It shouldn't happen at all. I heard of people abusing, mistreating, and wearing fur over here in the US. Over here in the US, stars don't wear anything as a form of protest for PETA. But eating dogs and/or cats?! That's insane! They must be corrupt or something over there or mustn't care about animals at all, so there. I know people over there are struggling, but aren't we all? But to eat animals? That's beyond insane! Crazy! I would never stoop so low as to eat cats and dogs, but cows and pigs (not to mention chickens)  are okay, just b/c everybody does so and it's part of our culture. Maybe it's part of their culture to eat dogs and/or cats, but not ours, nor do I want it to be. Thank goodness!
We may care about the planet and animals, but it doesn't mean we succumb our appetite as well. The planet might not be around for long, so we gotta take care of it. We gotta do our part in taking care of it and the people/animals occupying it for better or for worse, for good times and bad, we'll be there. (Excuse me, if I'm starting to sound like a sermon.) Well, life won't be the same without the planet and all its worldly creatures including us humans, whether we're being hateful or lovable toward each other. We gotta be good to each other and to the planet at large, otherwise there will be no one left to take care of the planet and us humans if we destroy the earth and its inhabitants. :(
Save the planet! ;p
Girl Power!! Women's History Month
We stand tall as women. We can just as well do the same things as men can, only 10 folds better! We are taking the 21st century by storm! (http://events.yahoo.com/womensday/2010/0) I say, more power to us girls, ahem, I mean, ladies!
We've came a long ways  from being granted the right to vote. Nowadays, ladies (without the aid of the men in their lives) are achieving a lot ( and I do mean a lot!). Behind every successful woman is a man waiting on her hand-n-foot, waiting for her to bring home the bacon, so to speak!
Back in high school, I was taught that women could advanced into whatever field they choose, whatever their abilities. Women should not let men or rather, immature boys put them down. They should achieve whatever goals they want, no matter how many people they have to get by to break down the glass pyramid, figuratively speaking. They shouldn't let others trample over them or their dreams! To go one step further, men can be mean-spirited, step on other people's feet and not be called names like 'bully,' but when women act that way, they're called lots of imprintable names. So, ladies, stand up for your rights! Don't care what other people say behind your back! Everyone should respect one another's individulity, whether you're a lady or a man. These girls, I mean, women show us ladies that we can be successful like the men before us (without help from the guys, thank you very much!)
100 years toward women's suffrage as of this month
News Flash! News Flash! Straight from Tinseltown! How to be a Good Hollywood Role Model
It's sad that they just can't handle the pressure of Hollywood that they have to sure to other ways to handle the problem(s) at hand, only to succumb to tragedy. Either they're not level-headed enough or they're succumbing to peer pressure or any kind of pressure, mostly from their peers. But having a drink or two or even snorting a line or two of cocaine is just wrong. DON'T SUCCUMB TO PEER PRESSURE, NO MATTER WHAT!! OTHERWISE, CONSEQUENCES WILL BE DIRE!! I know that peer pressure is everywhere, but more so from the media, entertainment industry. Kids are influenced by the celebrities, so they should set a good example, be a good role model.
The first Hollywood movie star death who OD I heard about was River Phoneix. Although the news was shocking, it made me realize that even stars make the mistake in ODing, so he wasn't a very good role model.
Nowadays, a lot of stars go clubbing even before they're old enough to enter just b/c they're recognizable as celebrites. They get high, act crazy. Although they're not good role models, kids still look up to them. I wonder why....
But there are a lot of other good roles that stay out of the limelight, but kids don't care for them. Maybe 'cause they're not exciting enough?  Being a good role model means setting a good example, not bowing down to peer pressure. Just being yourself. Don't let others judge you for who you are. You can and could be what you want to be-just go for it!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
It's green season. By that I mean St. Patrick's Day, not Earth Day; that's on April 20, natch!
You tend to see a lot-and I do mean a lot-of a green even in the beer you drink (Irish beer). And it's all to celebrate the Irish holiday. Wonder who was Patrick? What did he do to be deserve to be called a saint? They must have a huge-I mean HUGE-celebration in Ireland on St. Paddy's Day. Is it really true that there's luck in a four leaf clover and not a three leaf one? If so, will it bring luck to other people who aren't Irish? Questions abound.... Curiosity can kill a cat and I'm a cat.
Note: I love cats even though I can't stand being 'round 'em.
Spring: A Sign of New Beginnings
I love spring!
It's my most favorite season!
Never mind the allergies, it's a time of new beginnings!
To start afresh
A time of awakening!
A time of renewal!
A time of ch-ch-ch-changes!
Bring it on!
Love the spring-y weather!
Forget the pollen in the air
that's causing my allergies to act up
It's wonderful time of time the year!
No more hiding indoors!
No more frostbitten weather!
No more overdressing!
You can wear T-shirts and shorts ensemble again!
Now you can feel the fresh air and sun on your face,
biting at your very whim!
Rest in Peace, Corey Haim :-(
Another star is dead of an overdose. :(  It's like 60s and 70s on repeat (This is not a good thing.) when all the stars died of an overdose. Although I didn't live through that era, I heard about it. Now another star's dead of an overdose.
What can I say? Maybe Corey Haim had a substance abuse problem, but I tend not to believe the hype. DON'T BELIEVE the HYPE!! Now another star had OD. Sad...
Feldman said that they won't be friends until Haim straighten up his act; don't want him to act up around his wife and kid. But I guess he didn't kick the habit. It was a losing battle, and at the end, he lost. So sad that he was gone before he achieve his comeback as an actor.
I like him as a kid. Can't hardly believe he was only 38 when he died. I liked all his movies when they paired him up with the other Corey, Corey Feldman, up. They were like brothers. Together they conquered the teen scene in the 80s.
He was the follower of the two Coreys; Feldman was the leader-he was the cute, cuddly one; Feldman was the wild, carefree one. Both were so young. Back in the days...
RIP Corey Haim. May you have fulfilled your dreams...
More Cutbacks
Why's the economy so bad off?
First the jobs are downsized. Then the Muni has hiked their fee to $20. Now they're saying they gonna cut education. By that, I mean they're cutting classes. That's why the students, teachers, parents are rebelling against the system by having rallies all across the nation this past Thursday. But is it worth it? Will the politicos listen? Call me a cynic, but I don't think so. Even if put our voices in, they won't listen. They got their own opinions, though we must advocate for our rights as students/teachers/parents to make a stand against the politicans that we won't stand for the cutbacks! We must stand our ground! We must let our message be heard LOUD and  CLEAR that we won't stand for anymore budget cuts!! We can change the system!
At CCSF, if they go thru with the budget cuts, they might cut the DSPS classes, never mind the services that DSPS provides. Not only are the community/junior colleges are at-risk, the state & public universities are in jeopardy. What will we do without community colleges? without our education?
For those who lost their jobs and are going back to school to further their education, I am sorry, actually the government should say sorry, but there is no longer a way for them to spread their wings. They may go back to school b/c they want to learn more skills. If the budget cuts actually happens, there would be no longer a way for them to go to school what with the cutbacks.
On a persoal note, I am just exercising and taking Job Club that helps with my job skills thru CCSF, but what will happened to me without it? I and my friends will be lost without it. So I plead with the politicans to stop with the budget cuts-STOP the BUDGET CUTS! It won't do anybody a world of good. We NEED DSPS classes and the services it provide! NO MORE BUDGET CUTS!!!
Make your voices heard!! Attend each and every rally there is!! Prevent the cutbacks!! Advocate for rights of studens/teachers/parents! Advocate for public education NOW!  STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!!
More Earthquakes
There are more earthquakes. Beware: more earthquakes to come. Why are there so many earthquakes this year in many different part of the world?
This time, a 6.4 magnitude quake occurred in Southern Taiwan. In 1999, central Taiwan had a 7.6 magnitude earthquake. Oh, they have little earthquakes. But nothing as terrible as this.
Hope a lot of people are left unscathed by the earthquake although that's having false hope.
Review: E! Too Young To Kill: 15 Shocking Crimes
Sad but true.
These teens become hardened criminals at such a young age; they were tried as adults, so they get the maximum sentence.
 I just can't get my head around it. I find it highly disturbing. Why and how can lil kids can do it? I just can't fathom it. The explanation for 'why' isn't so hard to discern because life as a teenager can be hard. Sometimes it can be hell. Be to resort to killing? I just can't fathom it. 'How' is kinda hard to put into words. I mean, do the parents have a gun lying around the house? If they do, it isn't very wise. It very tempting to use it against your parents or even your classmates who scorned you. Don't you need to be an adult to acquire a gun?  Have the violence in our entertainment industry really have desenitized our teens? This real life, not some video game, the be-all-end-all.
These teens have their whole lives ahead of them. It's worse than being, say breaking your parents' rules, you're breaking the law. When you break your parents' rules, all you get is yelled at or restrict your privileges like being grounded. But when you break the law, you have to live the consequences for the rest of your life, maybe your eternity. These kids have their whole lives ahead of them, why spend it behind bars?
They could find a solution to their problems some other way besides murder like talking, but maybe kids do it for the thrill.
Sad but true. It is a nightmare to have the parents see their kids sent off to prison unless the kids already did the parents in... This is whole other topic that I don't wanna get into right now. My heart goes out to them.
