Global Warming = Apocalyse Soon

What with there been in earthquakes in- the East Coast not only it's there a earthquake in the East Coast but there's a horrible disastrous hurricane over yonder (Hurricane Irene) Usually hurricanes happen in the states surrounding Gulf of Mexico like Florida, Louisiana but not in New York all the way to Canada. Earthquakes happen in the East like in Colorado (there's probly lots of avalanches! Scary!) and now there's a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Alaska w/ a tsunami warning cos it's so close to the coast

Nature disaster strikes where you least expect it, so beware-be on your toes at all times
IMO, I think it's nature way of telling us we could've been more nicer to the planet, only now's too late. We can't change it; the damage is already done. But we  can salvage what's left of it.

So go forth and make changes to our environment-before the environment changes you!

Beauties in Nature

Totally awesome, huh? My all-time fave animal-so beautiful so wonderful so PINK!
I bet they hardly ever fight-read online they're very social animals. They socialize in colonies and can go up to 1000s. How, I wonder, can animal, let alone a bird can be so doggone beautiful?
Harry Potter Reference Alert: If I could be an animagus for a dementor,  I would be this lovely bird.
The swan is another beautiful, awesome bird. So awesome. So graceful. No wonder ballerines in the Swan Lake. Remember the story of the Ugly Duckling? It was about a duck who became a swan at the end. Sometimes I feel like the ugly duckling because I'm not so beautiful on the outside no one will ever love me... only in wildest dreams. I will never be a swan cos I'm not graceful.

Beautiful, aint it? Factoid: The birds with the feathers blowing behind are the male so that they can woo their ladies; the women don't have the feathers (Show off!) They say survival of the fittest. In this case, fittest of the survival!  They may think they are God's gift to the world (maybe they are), God, they  are gorgeous! Absolutely divine! Godsend! And all that garbage!

here's a beautiful image from the heavens: love love love!
keep the peace!

...And the Story Continues: How Jaycee Dugard is Coping

The guy (and the alleged wife-I mean, who would married him) is a sexual predator. The guy's on parole, right? So why didn't those fool 'officials'check out the backyard cos they said they went there like, 50x and THEY DIDN'T SEE THE TENT COMMUNITY! How could they not?! It's just criminal If they've only made a thorough inspection of the place, then Jaycee Dugard and her kids (which she got when she was raped by her kidnapper (who turned out to be the sexual predators-pedophile) How could she live, isolated,  away from the world with no contact. Imagine being away from your from times 100, Imagine all the education she miss out on, she have to either homeschool or learn the same lessons as her kid, whose the same age as when she was when she was kidnapped. Imagine all those lost years without her family and friends. She lost her childhood, her youth, cos she had her babies when she was just a teenager. How sick and twisted I don't wanna write anymore.
Watching the clip of the Jaycee Dugard special made me think how lonely she is. She was glad that she gave birth to her kid, because now she won't be lonely anymore, to parapharse what she said. Anyway, at least now she's finally reunited with her family. It took almost 2 decades, but at long last, she finally reunites with her family. She may have changed with two kids by the rapist/kidnapper/pedophile (I hope he and his alleged wife get life without the possiblity of parole. (I don't believe in the death penalty)

Stay tuned! There will be a Jaycee Dugard special on ABC at 9pm w/ Diane Sawyer  Judge for yourself how sick and twisted this man was or how joyous the reuniou is. The interview is w/ Diane Sawyer w/ Jaycee Dugard and her mother-18 long years.

Woman disappeared 41 years ago turned up

Lula Cora Hood, who went missing in 1970, has turned up. She has 14 kids and had mental health problems all throughout her adult life. Her family has thought they found her remains in a brickyard in Galeburg, Fla in 1996. So they held a memorial service to bury the remains. 2 yrs ago, the family had DNA testing on the remains-turned it wasn't Hood. So the investigators reopened the case. With her name and date of birth in hand, they were able to find her in Fla in late June. Although DNA results won't be available for several mon, officials are convinced they've the right woman this time around.
\
It doesn't matter if you've got mental health issues cos you've got so many kids (14!), you don't just walk away from your family from your responsibilities! God, Lord, it's incredible! How could she have walked away from her family like that?! What a fine example for your kids! They need a maternal role model. From I read, she doesn't remember her kids, not even the one who called her.

And another thing- the cops were doing such a lousy job. I mean why couldn't they've find her before- I mean The article said they used name and birthdate. Well, they didn't need computers for that: they could just used a telephone book. God, and how could they have gotten another person's remains mixed up with Hood's?

Living the Green Life: 4th of July Special

Having fireworks is so outdated! And besides, it's bad for the environment. People are always saying how to live a eco-friendly life, act more green, et al. Well, here's one for the books: why don't we have fake fireworks that is shown via satellite from around the nation kinda like a hologram.
Watching this year's fireworks got me thinking-isn't fireworks bad for our environment? Such a peaceful night. Where did the idea of fireworks came from? I guess from the song Star-Spangled Banner. Remember the line And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air/ Now that we're being so environmentally-friendly, we shouldn't put anymore fireworks anymore cause it kills the environment. It comtaminates the air with what's left from the fireworks-fuse I think- whether it's put on illegally by your family and friends or being put on for public display with the help of professionals, we should ban fireworks. After the fireworks are blasted into the air, it goes into the environment, which most likely kills environment and hastens the greenhouse effect. You don't want that to happen, don't you?
Fireworks is all in the spirit of fun, but the greenhouse effect is no laughing metter, so y'all must take care of the environment, just as you must respect yourself and others.

To Green Living!

Rare Random Act of Kindness brought to you by Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Here is a lil random act of kindness:
The person who took us to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk left her window opened. The security at the boardwalk took their electronics (the person who took us there and the other client, which included her GPS and charger and his radio) to prevent someone from stealing the aforemenioned items/

My take on this random act of kindness? There are still some good, kindhearted people out there. Some Good Samaritans that would do a good deed for any stranger. I know, I know, it's part of his job, but he could've of ignored us, but he helped kept our electronics safe  so other people won't break into our car.

Morale: There are still some good, trusting people out there, but you must never leave your windows open, otherwise you won't be so lucky the next time!

Obsesity as a Disability

EEOC now claims obesity is a disability under ADAAA. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) now claims obesity is a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA). Until now, the courts have routinely rejected general obesity as a "disability" under the ADA and Rehabilitation Act. Cases have required one to show some different underlying medical condition that is a disability and that causes obesity as a "symptom." Now the EEOC has filed suit, claiming that a company discriminatorily fired an employee because of obesity. The EEOC claims that ever since President George W. Bush authorized the ADA Amendments Act in 2008, the law has a much lower threshold for what constitutes a disability. The EEOC claims that basic obesity, without any other underlying condition, sufficiently impacts the life activities of bending, walking, digestion, cell growth, etc., to qualify as a disability or perceived disability. EEOC v. Resources for Human Development (E.D. LA.2010).

People are using the fast-food industry-there is no such as healthy fast food (not even Subway)!-more often what w/ the recession and all lately. There is no such thing as fine dining and casual restaurants have peished cause no one have the expenses to go eat at a nice restaurant, so they'd rather eat at a fast-food place or go thru the drive in.
In the meantime, the obesity rate have skyrocketed cos the fast food industry, which  way popular now since people can't afford to go to a nice restaurant. Most of the food in those fast food place are super size.  (Have y'all watch Super Size Me?)
Being obese could cause a whole slew of deathly problems for the rest of your life:

■Diabetes

■Cardiovascular disease

■Heart Disease

■Stroke

■Certain types of cancer

■High blood pressure

■High cholesterol

■Metabolic syndrome

■Sleep apnea

■Asthma

■Arthritis

■Gallbladder disease

■Liver disease

■Urinary incontinence

■Depression

These problems could be fatal to your health or to yourself. It's a matter of life or death, so you should be careful what you put in your body and how you treat your body. After all, your body's your temple.

Peace out,
Bros and Sis

Chinese giving birth to American kids

China 'Born in the USA' Frenzy

Not only does the rich and famous (Angelina Jolie) give birth to their kids in foreign countries, but middle class Chinese citizens do. Even if they do give birth in another country, say America, when the mother's from, say China, they don't get the same privileges as another Chinese-born child born in China. One Chinese-born woman whose American-born son  has a U.S. passport, the law does not allow him to be registered in his mother's local area, which means that he will not be automatically admitted to Chinese schools. Song will have to register him as a foreigner, and pay an extra fee. His access to education and health care also faces a lot of constraints.
If you're an American-born child with Chinese-born parents, you can't travel directly to America, you gotta go to Hong Kong first, whose passport gives access to more than 120 countries without the need of a visa. Advantages include the fact that children will receive bilingual education (which will give them a foothold in the international world), and the fact that they will also enjoy the preferential policies for going to Chinese universities.
Some parents obtain fake birth certificates for their children, or cheat the Chinese Embassy to get them Chinese passports. But then they can't get visas or go abroad, as one parent explained
Anyway it's costly to give birth to a baby in America if you're Chinese for birthing and post birthing care, so are you game?

Blackbeard's anchor
3,000 pound anchor from what is believed to be the wreck of the pirate Blackbeard's flagship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, is recovered from the ocean whereit has been since 1718, on Friday, May 27, 2011 in Beaufort Inlet, in Carteret County N.C.

zoo keeper holds a 4-week-old Humboldt penguin during a photo-call to mark the opening of the new London Zoo penguin pool and beach, in London May 26,2011.

My take on this week's events? Well, Mother Nature (and global warming) can be funny and unusual.
How can the trees turned all curvy like that (I think it's gnarly) and the melon-sized hail (wild and strange!)  But Mother Nature is kinda cool when it shows us we can bring in another lifeform, another cute lil penguin (ooh, baby! How adorable!)
On the other hand, we humans are kinda cool ourselves when we invent new stuff and discovered old artifacts like Blackbeard's flagship Queen Anne's Revenge's anchor. (How fascinating and interesting) After these years, they finally discovered something from the pirates' era. Some people say that Blackbeard is just a legend; this just proves he was real. The real deal. I wonder how many ships he plundered, how many cities he sacked. I wonder how he died. (to be contd)
Now then, what is considered art or even fashion? Imagine if those two Hungarian designers actually won.... It would absolutely, positively changed the social scene. But no respectable model or decent person would be caught dead 'wearing' that. I mean, oh...my...god...I can't believe it. Maybe it's art disguised as fashion, but still... get some fashion sense, Hungary! Wild n' Crazy! Lol!

Leavin' a Legacy

I want to do something meaningful w/ my life.

I have big dreams
Get married to a really hot guy w/ a even hotter personality, have the cutest kids, become a career woman
BUT
will a be one of those woman who places their career as 1st priority
rather than having a family as a 1st priority?

My main goal in life is to find an utopia existence on this planet Earth-is there evn one out there?, where everybody gets along with everyone else and they live not in boring waste-consuming houses,
but in forest Yeh, they'll commune with nature. Life will be grand. Oh so grand!
Who needs the high life when we could be tree huggers. Everybody is so materlistic like they can't live w/o this or that tacky geegaw.

Senseless Police Brutality Comin' to a Streetcorner Near Ya

Didja hear about the senseless act of police brutality right in front of San Francisco Dept. of Public Health? The cops shot a man in wheelchair! Granted, he was stabbing tires and one fellow officer but there he's not dangerous by any means.

How could this have happened? Incredible!

Here's the vid shot by a passerby with his camera phone:

I guess I now know that police can prey on the weak and helpless. Most of the homeless are mentally ill; others aren't. . My god, they said they should have Tasered the guy in the wheelchair. I mean, the guy is already disabled. You wanna create more problems for the man? In other words,  the cops wanna justify this incident by saying they should've tranquilized the disabled victim.
But they should be trained to treat the disabled like decent human beings They should have sensitivity training on how to treat disabled folks.
Everytime I see a vid of police of dissing the disabled folks, I feel sick. It's like we don't have the same rights as our fellow citizens. And to have it seen right in our own backyard, that's unnerving. I guess it could happened everywhere, but you don't want it to happen in our own San Francisco. But as the vid shown above proves, it could happen anywhere! Sad but true.

Advocacy is the answer.
4 R the  peers n' those who are unable to speak up, I say, let's join together and let's not let any authority stand in our way
let's educate those who need understanding patience& knowledge With knowledge comes power to do right by us.

Godspeed!

Police Brutality Has Taken On a Whole Another Level

What has this world come to?
Police think their so above the law (they're not) that they're beating on weak and the helpless (elderly and disabled). It is totally and completely unacceptable! Imagine the emotional and physical reprecussions on the poor victims.

Police is supposed to honor and serve our citizens of our country by respecting and listening to them, not brutalizing them for no good reason. Cops should treat us citizens like their own kin with respect and kindness. I thought in this day n' age we're so pass that. No wonder our citizens of our world don't even trust cops nowadays cause the cops show no reason to be trusted, going out to brutalize our most vulnerable citizens of our country-the elderly n' disabled.

Even if the cops beat the weak n' helpless, they won't get fired-they're above the law- even though they should. The top cop will look pass it. Since they are cops, they've the law on their side, which is totally n' completely unacceptable; all cops who perform any kind of police brutality should get fired, never to work in the line of duty again.

Check out this video of police brutality.
Good  thing it was on video and that there were witnesses. Maybe the victim can sue the department for emotional and physical damage? And get the guys fired? It was sick and and mostly disturbing, watching this. I can't believe what went down.

Pakistan Corrupt Gov't

Were the Pakistani govt covering up Osama bin Laden's whereabouts. The Pres. of Pakistan, Ali Zardari, could've known where he was staying cos he was staying in Islamabad, which was near a military base. They could've have gone and did the deed a long time ago. They were covering for bin Laden.
So now all US aid to the Pakistan is frozen until further investigation.

The question of the moment is: Were the Pakistani govt trying to cover up the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden or not?

Conspiracy Theory: osama bin laden really dead?!

As if you really and truly believe the Al-Queda leader-thesupposedly  mastermind behind the terrorist attacks to end all terrorist attacks (9/11) is really and truly dead. Frankly, I'm a lil skeptical AT THAT! cos he's been so elusive for so long. Lemme the actual corpse and I'll believe it.

!!!CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT!!!

People are saying the real Osama bin Laden died ages ago of kidney failure, no less. that they got the wrong guy and the real bin Laden died right after the attack on 9/11 and never admitted to the atrocity.

Osama bin Laden died of kidney failure in 2001
denied terrorist attacks on World Trade Center

White House mouthpiece

Do you notice that this guy who's supposedly was bin Laden came up whenever Cheney & Bush's polls are down during the Bush administrarion?
Even if he did died, won't they just retaliate?
I mean, he supposedly killed millions of people (exaggeration, ok 1000s) but he was a living being-we shouldn't be celebrating his death (like we celebrated when another dictator died by the name of Saddam Hussein perished, absolutely, positively perished!!)
Murder for Murder - what does that teach our kids? that murder is right? Why do we condone murder? Are we that desensitize to violence?
Killing the guy who is supposedly osama bin laden won't end terrorist attacks-it will only continue the reign of terror! Don't they worry about retribution?
This victory is gonna be bittersweet and maybe short-lived.
Possibly this is all an election ploy by Obama or not-maybe we did killed the wrong guy who's been impersonating bin Laden.

With Hussein n' now Osama bin Laden dead, are we really safe? I mean, are we really and truly safe? Don't we worry about retaliation, fear that there might be more terrrorist attacks coming ahead...

One we have to say for sure, we just have to live for the moment, enjoy ev'ry day as if it's the last.

Quit Complaining-there are people less fortunate than you!

This video shows that there are people from the 3rd world country who are less fortunate than us in this world and we shouldn't complain.

Compared to the people who populate those 3rd world countries, we are much better off than them, so what are we complaining about?  We should be more thankful and giving and less complaning and whining all the time. We should appreciate what we have when across the country in the 3rd world countries the people have very little in abundance.Let's just be thankful that we are fortunate to have a home and a roof over our heads.
While we take life for granted (ie.: school, playing w/ our friends) they take nothing for granted. They take advantage of every single moment to earn their keep. While our parents struggle, the kids help out the parents in the 3rd world countries not cos they have to but cos they want to. Nothing is handed to them. They had to struggle. If you don't like salad or any healthy food (ie,: fruits or vegetables), don't waste it. Think of the people in the 3rd world countries who live day after day hungry cos they have nothing to eat cos they have no money to buy the food. Don't go on a diet cos people are starving in 3rd world countries. Appreciate your folks b/c kidsfrom 3rd world countries are orphans. Life isn't a game to them cos they have no form of entertainment. Poor kids. Be happy you have a decent place to live in. cos most of the kids from the 3rd world countries don't have a decent place to live in-most of 'em live in the streets, probably begging for food or cash for decent clothing. Poor kids. They got no choice in what kind of brand shoes they'll be wearing from day-to-day cos they've only one pair of shoes while we get mad for not getting the pair of shoes we want for X-mas or our birthday.
So don't complain anymore. Just pray. Pray for those who are less fortunate than us. Don't always be selfish; be more selfless.

On a related note, why are there so much cutbacks?  The rich is doing all these devious. lowdown. backhanded cutbacks. Cutting, cutting, cutting away at our economy to fit their budget-the rich man's budget. Aren't the politcos supposed to help the poor and not the rich? Instead, they give tax breaks to the rich and not to the poor. I know a socioeconomic group that needs the tax cut more than the rich and that's the poor.

Marijuana

D'y'all believe that marijuana can be medical purposes? D'y'all believe it should be legalize under the federal law?

Scientists find no reasonable cause for medical purposes.m marijuana (mary jane); the only reason one takes mary jane is to get high. It causes you to mentally breakdown.  It's like drinking alcohol-you have blackouts, you don't know what you are doing or who you are. It makes you feel not yourself. Mary jane is like an upper (or is it a downer?)

I know marijuana is legal under state law, but what about federal law? While we're at it, why don't we legalize cocaine and heroin too?  And Xtacsy too?

I wonder what it feels like to get high...  Not only on life, but coke and heroin and Ecstasy. Sometimes I feel down, so I want to try some kind of drug to give me some sort of a high. Anti-depressant wouldn't work, so would illegal, street drugs work? Something to contemplate...

An Immoral World

What If..
The world was immoral. People have no conscience. There would be no laws. People would get away w/ whatever, including among other things murder, domestic violence. There would be no jails for the lawbreakers cos there would be no laws to break. No reform school cos there would be nothing to reform. No hospitals cos there would be no injuries to report.
Of course, there would be chaos above chaos. There would be no end to the mayhem, destruction.
People would get away with all these crimes, but they wouldn't be called crimes cos no one has a conscience.
On the other hand, life wouldn't be sooooooooooooooo boring (like now) It would be one trill ride after another.

Peace Lovin'

Let's make peace not war!

As news reached us of war in Libya started by the UNITED STATES via missile attack, I can't help but ponder why we can stop fighting and starting wars.
Let me paraphrase Obama here. He said he's gonna bring home the troops home from Iraq (and probably Afghanistan). I think he shut down Guantanamo Bay. But here he is: his administration starts yet another war. Haven't they ever heard of peace talks?
I thought with this new presidential administration, there will be a certain sense of peace. Instead, AMERICA has started a new war. What kind of esample are we setting for other nations" That we should resolve all our probs w/ fighting, death, chaos, mayhem; the list of destruction goes on and on
I know the military goes to serve our country, but, here's the cynic in me, it's not serving when our country folks are dying on the battlefields.
                                                               Let's make friends not enemies
                                                                  1) listen to others
                                                                      a) take advice from others
                                                                      b) take constructive criticism
                                                                  2) be respect to self and others
                                                                  3) be nice to others and vice versa

Shameful love

Love me
hello lovebirds everywhere!
whisper sweet nothings in me ear
kiss me
saturate me with love till morning's dawn
love Godforsaken me
love me tender always
                                   n
                         forever
                                   n
                         forevermore
Be optimistic cos love will surely prevail
It will triumph over all things-
Yep, ALL that is holy

Hate me
hello haters!
life is built on lies,
                       deceit,
                       anguish
don't tempt fate;
let fate tempt you
be the sexy
          saucy
          evil
                dominatrix
                seductress
                temptress
To every optimist, there's a pessimist
Life-it's filled with so many temptations
BUT if you're human, you'll succumb to all temptations to satisfy your lust (of life, sex,, food cravings, etc)  Just the other day, I was able to resist the temptation of buying McDonald's although I love walking by and enjoy the aromas. Does that make me less than human? I went, Holy Junk Food Addict! but I didn't buy anything cos knowing me I'm a diet. I would eat and eat for days and days and then go on a diet. Life sucks, but we all have to suck it up sometimes.

Apocalyse Now!

Global Warming or Apocalyse?
In regard to the destruction in all parts of the world, which include earthquakes in Haiti and China and this latest tragedy the 8.9 earthquake in Japan, which started tsunami in mostly all of the West Coast. (Good thing I don't live near the ocean!) And you thought California was earthquake country. Now the whole world has turned into a earthquake zone. No one is safe. No one but no one! (Too melodramatic!) Seriously, it even snowed in Cali, where it never ever snowed before unless we have a real cold front. I'll bet the hole in the ozone layer is really deep and huge now.
The sad thing is, we could've prevented this tragedy from happening by taking care of our home we called the planet Earth. Now it has all gone into chaos just because of the way we treat it. We are killing our planet by driving air-sucking cars run on gas, which is guzzling our money cuz they are raising the prices each time we need to pump gas; instead we could ride our bikes or walk as a form of exercise to work. People needn't go to the gym to exercise. If they want to save money and want to get some fresh air since they are cooped up working a 9-5 job, they should go out to some exercise instead  of wasting money on a treadmill  or some other kind of exercise machine or even a membership at a gym. And then there's recycling, composting. I say, if you can't reuse it, then you definitely can't  recycle it.

It's not too late to make a difference before the earth succumbs to humankind's mistreatment.

Smitten

I love ice cream! I mean, who doesn't? Expect for those who are lactose intolerant (poor suckers, they're missing out on a wonderful junk food)
Can't hardly wait for this new ice cream parlor (kinda old-fashioned, I know, but anyways...)
Smitten itself is kinda old-fashioned & contemporary at the same time.
The style of the shoppe is old-fashioned but the ice cream ain't Here's the scoop on the new ice cream shop: the ice cream is made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream, to sound redundant. Can't wait for March 21st when the shop opens although they have a tasting around the 14th. What it has, you ask? Oh the ordinary vanilla, chocolate, plus some fruity flavor pertaining to the season. They also have salted caramel. And they offered handmade pizzelle cones. Their very own chefs, Robyn Lenzi & Andrew Shaw created the toppings baked, spiced almonds for salted caramel or freshly baked chocolate shortbread cookies for vanilla

Stop People Hatin'

Stop hatin'-and that means using, abusing, misusing physically, mentally, emotionally and verbally. Parents should not be labeled as 'parents' or adopt kids if they can handle being parents even all they're doing is abusing, using, misusing physically, mentally, and verbally. I could on and on and on. Sad that we can all treat everybody w/ respect esp. helpless lil kids who did nothing but be kids. No wonder kids from abusive situations learn to be abusive when they're older b/c that's all they've ever known, how to treat each other. I'm grieving for the twins who were practically burned to death and the girl was starved; while the girl twin died the boy twin survived but think of how he'll be as he grows up w/o his twin sister and remembering being w/ those awful 'foster parents.'  I'm not only grieving for the twins but for the million other kids who are mistreated by their biological, foster or adoptive parents. I feel so sad. My heart goes out to them.

Budget Cuts Redux

Call me a cynic, but I don't know what all the rallying and such will help. The gov't won't listen to us 'little people.' All the shouting and screaming-the Arc & other demonstraters called it rallying-wouldn't help in the slightest b/c they'll (the gov't) damn well cut the budget. What good would it do?
Maybe I'm not a cynic, I'm a realist 'cuz face it, the economy is in bad shape-the worst shape we've seen since the Depression in 30s. Gas prices are going up-all the way to $5! Can you believe it?! Wish we can go back to the olden days when gas were $1.
But I digress...
Even though I understand why the gov't need to cut the budget, do they need to cut the budget at the expense of the disabled? We need our day programs-it's just like an adult school, a place to learn and make new friends. Do they cut the public school system? No. Then why cut the services for our disabled citizens? I tell you, this breaucracy system is totally unfair,  unjust, and uncalled for. They think just cuz we're disabled we can be taken full advantage of. So not fair. But I guess this is how the system works. Wish there was a way to break thru the red tape to demand rights for us disabled folks.

Back then...

Why can't we go back to a simpler time?
A time when people were actually nice to each other
A time when people didn't show cleavage in their attire; it's what's inside that's matters, not outside. Beauty is only skin deep.
A time when people actually care about each other and not make judgments about each other, whether its about their attitude or 'fashion sense.'
A time when people have more face-to-face contact or they write letters to each other or at least they talk to each other
Now anything goes...
People just fight over the simplest of thingsPeople worry way too much about their body image-they become obssessed with it, they've turned anorexic or bulimic; everything about themselves is totally and completely fake; nothing is real anymore since they do plastic surgery 10x over
Why do have people care about each other 'fashion sense' (or lack thereof)-it's so superficial; they should worry about what kind person they are: personality, talent, etc.
Now all people want to do is communicate with each other via computer gadets online (email, text, online chat rooms) and through their so-called networking sites (MySpace, Facebook

'Course that's just the plus side of things way back when.
The negative side are numerous:
Let me count the ways:
1) Thanks to suffragists, women were given the right to vote in 1920
2) Civil right movemeent began in the '60s
3) Chinese Exclusion Act of 1800s, which the Chinese to be relocated and not allowed to enter the   State    Japanesese were sent to concentration camps in the States during WWII; also every other race that's not black was segregated or stereotyped. (KKK wanted the African American's heads in the form of lynching)
So not everything way back then was rosy but Hollywood sure as hell made it seem rosy!

How America Can Be the True Ideal Land of Opportunity

Chinese come to America with the illusion that there will be gold waiting for 'em but 'cuz of their race they're kept back from either going back to China or entering America, according to Maxine Hong Kingston's book China Men, which is about the male relatives of her life.

Because of the Chinese Exclusion Act, Chinese were kept at Angel Island for days, which turn into weeks which become months. Months into years. Even though they got good jobs back in China, where they speak
Chinese, here in America all they get was either work in the restaurants (my father) or the laundry (my grandfather and Maxine Hong Kingston's father). We were only allowed to do menial labor like helped built the transcontinental railroad. We lost people building that railroad. They had to change their names to an America name/ My father was given an American name, but Maxine Hong Kingston's father changed his name to an American name. The thngs we do to fit in to American culture. This is so not the 'land of opportunity.'
According to Maxine Hong Kingston, her grand-grandfather worked in the fields like a slave (although he and his fellow Chinese immigrants get paid, though they get short-changed sometimes. Yes, life as a Chinese who came here for a better life was hard here in America the land of the opportunity. Yea, right!) helped harvesting the sugar cane in Hawaii's Sandalwood Mountains. On the other hand, my great-grandfather (on my father's side) was a hardworking man (although Maxine Hong Kingston's great-grandfather was a hardworker; she goes, the ones who weren't able to survive, he won't acknowledge them as his own.) He started his own hand-washed laundry business in the Big Apple (New York) Yes he went back. To this day, we have connections there in the Big Apple. Even my dad lived there for a time.
My folks never ever told me Chinese stories. However, Maxine Hong Kingston's relatives did. Reading those old Chinse stories made me feel like I'm missing a part of my Chinese culture; I lost a part of my Chinese culture being born in America. Being born an American means I was taught American stories, not Chinese stories, which include tall tales-Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed, remember those two characters? Being born in America also meant I also learned American history, not Chinese history-sure, I was taught world history but just the important parts; they didn't go into details. Through Maxine Hong Kingston's autobiography, I learned some Chinese history-parts I feel missing from my education as I was growing up in America.

But boy, am I glad I didn't grow up in China! The Communist Party did unspeakable things to their civilians. All of Maxine Hong Kingston's male relatives died at the hands of the Communists/ The Communist may have taken our material possessions, but not our dignity!
Through it all, my mother worked hard in school both in high school and college majoring in chemistry. She was athletic in many sports, most especially basketball and ping pong. She was popular in school.
Meanwhile my dad was in America working hard before and after school, he delivered newspapers. He went to Lowell (back then, anybody could get in-it wasn't just the smart kids) was enlisted in the Air Force-traveled a bit, got out to finished his college education at CCSF (it wasn't as big as it was now) majored in business at first, then got his RE degree there about the same time as Mom did.
Mom and Dad got married in 1973-opened their real estate agency at about the same time; Mom still worked part-time at an adveriising agency doing accounting.. When my older brother was born almost 36 years ago, my maternal grandparents came to take care of him. 2 yearss later I was born and both my grandparents had a hand in raising us kids while the parental units worked.
They always say, work hard and you will succeed.
I admit, sometimes I tend to be lazy, but I enjoy doing something like selling stuff (ie.: cards, calendars) so that I could get a coveted prize. I hate arithmetic but love English-I love composition. As all younger sibs do, I tended to look up to my older brother, tag along after him when he was with his friends.
During my schoolyears, I tended to be shy so I made few friends. My dad once teasingly called stuck-up, but me, I never like to be teased.
One so-called friend stabbed me in the back by laughing at me. I couldn't take it anymore so I got mad; I took matters into my own hands. They then rejected me. They told everyone about what happened; I got paranoid.
Fast forward to 21st century: my paranoid took a turn for the worst. I thought people were stalking me so that they could make mincemeat out of me.It took getting out of school for awhile to get my senses back.

i digress...
Old Gold Mountain: I got a theory about OGM-there's no such thing! It's just another way to say Land of Opportunity but at a price (probably gold). It is the land of opportunity if you're a rich, white, male. If you don't fit those criteria, then there's no land of opportunity for you, whether you're Asian, black or any other ethnicity that isn't white. During WWII, if you're Jewish or Japanese, there ain't no opportunity for ya. In the here n' now, if you're Muslim, you will be ostracize, all because of your faith. Maybe it's WWII all over again... When they have they Chinese Exclusion Act, there wasn't any opportunity for Chinese except for menial labor, helping to build the transcontinental railroad. Also women didn't have much opportunity either until the suffragists did something about it! Power to the women!
The only people with opportunity in America so-called land of opportunity were male of Caucasian ancestry (ie.: Polish, Danish). This just wasn't right but it happened.

Why wasn't there ever some kind of an uprising among all minorities ? I don't mean among just blacks, I mean among all minorities to unite together to overthrow the system. Blacks may have started the civil rights movement, but we as minorities could continue the movement of overthrowing the white supremacists of the world. We shouldn't let anyone put us down cuz united we stand. I think the minority race outnumbers the majority race.
There is Asian race from every spectrum-Indian, Korean, Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Polynesian to name a few. African Americns, Spanish race has a lot of different cultures-Latin Americans, Chicanos, mixed races-don't forget women and children. Women & children need rights too-sometimes they need to be heard-sometims no one listens to them.
We can form forces with the women & children, which include the Caucasian ones of the world. They, like the minorities, have been pushed around. With the minorities (& women & kids) can cause an uprising among  the rich, white, male and  order will be overthrown. It will be total and complete chaos!  Now this is the land of opportunity! When order resumes, utopia will be in order. Ah tranquility.

Crazy Love

Crazy like a fox
                        hunting for (playboy) bunnies
Playin' the field
In its neverending illusion of love/hate relationship
Dare to be
Vicious Lovin'
Killa Lovin'
Love me
Or
Hate me
Choose to be loved
Choose to be hated
Crazy love
What is there out there for the world at large in this crazy lovin' world?
Violence,
Mayhem,
Destruction,
Calamity,
But there is hope out there with the hate-
Harmony,
Peace.
Goodwill,
Love

Peace Out, Brothers n' Sisters!
May there be world peace in the future

Love's in the Air

I know, I know, V-Day (aka Valentine's Day) is so commercialized, but it's a love-ly holiday. People get married on this day. Well, here goes;

Love is unbeatable
            unconquerable
There's nothing like feeling the magic of love
You feel special like the world has slip away from you-
like you're the only ones belonging in this world
You fit together like goatskin gloves
Love-
       there's no end in sight
       it is boundless n' endless
When you feel hopeless, distraught,
                                                    suddenly love is right there
right in your face
it is the light at the end of the tunnel
your heart skips a beat
                                   waiting
                                              waiting
                                                         waiting
for the love of your life
These are the signs that you know you've truly fallen madly, deeply head-over-heels in love for 'the one':
your hands start to sweat,
you get delirious with happiness,
you get weak in the knees
 and of course
 your heart skips a beat
upon seeing him/her-
it's like love at first all over again!
love is crazy!
 ♥  LOVE ♥ - ISN'T IT A WONDERFUL THING?!

Happy Valentine's Day!

The Upsides n' Downsides of Life

Enjoy what you have (before it's taken away from you-don't take life for granted)

Don't take life for granted-take advantage of every single moment of your wonderful life
You never know what's around the corne until you make a go at it. If you don't succeed the 1st time, try, try again (as the saying goes). You never know-you may have a hidden talent for something you don't know you have. Life's about trying new things, experiencing the world, expanding your horizons and so on and so forth.
Enjoy every single moment you have on this planet Earth-you never know if your life will be taken away from you wherever that might be, if it's the next day or next week or next month, or even next year. It's all in the hands of Fate.
So go ahead and enjoy life! Go on... What are you waiting for?

Enjoy every moment of your life-you never know what's around waiting for you around the corner (be it something good or bad!) Just go with the flow and let life take care of the rest! (Understatement of the year) Life has its unexpected adventures-you never know what to expect in the unforeseeable future (unless you're  some superstitous fortune teller!) Life don't wait around for you; it comes whether you want it or not. Life is oh-so-mysterious. It reeks of mystery. Life- you never know what surprises is lying in wait for you.

You may plan out your life accordingly, but life doesn't just get planned (ie.: unwanted pregnancies, STIs, etc) You may want to have a career before having a family, but then you fall in love (Aw, shucks!), so you have to put your career plans on hold. Life gets planned; you don't planned life. It keeps things from gettin' bored all the time- surprises at every turn, at every moment, at waking hour.

Dare to be Different

Be true to yourself
Go out of your comfort zone
Think outside the box (as the Taco Bell commerical goes)
Take a chance
Take a leap of faith
Try something different in life
(like me trying sound recording when I've been writing for ages)
Don't always play it safe (except when it comes to sex)-
try something you've never ever try before like bungee jumping
Don't play by the rules-
rules are meant to be broken anyways
Just know your boundaries
Set yourself free from the everyday humdrum-
life is about the mundane;
it's about living each day with exciting, experiencing new things with no limits-
remember the sky's the limit!
Exceed your boundaries before they exceed you

Lookin' Within Yourself

I feel as though I'm missin' somethin' out of my life. Something significant. I'm trying to 'find myself,' my place in life. The billion dollar question is: What do I want out of life? I want to move forward than wasting my time repeatedly doing the same things over again n' again day in n' day out.
If something doesn't change soon, I could seriously sponteously combust, implode, freak out, whatever!
I want to move forward in life, not stuck in one spot for the rest of my days, wasting away into nothingness. I want to make something of myself, become a famous something or other, preferably in music. That's why I decided to sign up to learn how to sound record, to become a disc jockey aka dj. Maybe I could be like Samatha Ronson, deejaying at nightclubs.
First small-town SF, then I'll move on to big time LA or maybe NY, spinning tracks, mixing music. When I dream, I dream big! Hopefully, all my dreams will come true! Everlasting! Dreams are attainable if you work hard you will succeed.
But if I don't get to work in niteclubs, then I can work in a radio station. I would so love to work at a radio station-I just recently realize I love 80s music, but I feel so old listening to it, I also love Hip-Hop and R&B plus dance music. I could spin music all day n' all nite long. Maybe create my own radio station, playing underground musik?
The radio stations all have a specific type of music (ex. KMEL plays Hip Hop and R&B and Movin 99.7 plays dance musik. while Kiss 98.1 plays Old School music mostly 80s sometimes disco Well, those are my fave radio stations.)
I rather prefer working at a nightclub, but you gotta be loud. For a quiet person, I can't attain that goal.
And on radios, they don't have to see your face, which won't make me nervous, so the radio station's the best bet.

Also I want to someday get my short stories published. Be recognized for my creative writing, win writing awards. and becomea world-renown authoress so that I could buy my own mansion in Miami or Pac Heights. Miami because it's so so very incredibly beautiful. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is although I just did, huh? and maybe Pac Heights cause the richie rich lives there. Me mingling with the rich n' famous would be ultracool. Rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous (and sometimes infamous).  My neighbors would be the rich folks. So stellar.
I am weighing my options here. Maybe I csn live in both Miami n' Pac Heights.Miami's South Beach is so totally awesome! The sand is so pristine and white  Pac Heights factoid: Dianne Feinstein lives there. We got the world's greatest baseball team, but the world's suckiest football team-not to be disloyal toward the Niners, but the I might just root for the Miami Dolphins come next season! Like the Niners have a chance of prayer even though they'vee a new coach! Lame.
I know my dreams are lofty at best, but if you try hard you can succeed at anything, so my parents said often to me and my brother as children. (Yep, I do have a good memory; more often than not I remember the bad than the good, but that's a whole other topic...)

Quote from Anne Frank

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be.
Anne Frank

How did Anne Frank know all this? She seemed wise beyond her years. As a Jew, she was cooped up inside, hidden away from the Hitler's henchmen. The only little 'nature' she knew was from the books she probably read or the movies she saw before she went into hiding, before WWII (or was it WWI, I forget-I'm positive it's WWII)/ Anyway, she and her family and what became her friends was hidden till she was found out by some suspicious Hitler's henchmen. They practically invaded where they (Anne Frank's family and friends) were hidden. When she was found out, she and family and friends was (I not so sure about this part) sent to the firing squad. Oh, no they weren't sent to some concentration camp. Because they were evading Hitler's henchmen, they were sent to the firing squad.
Little would they know that Anne Frank would come symbolic of WWII. A era of evading Hitler's henchmen, trying to survive as a common Jew. This diary of a young Jewish teen girl would live through generations among generations of teenagers.
