March of Dimes: The Aftermath

Boy, are my dogs barking! (My feet are doggone tired!)
Geez, louize! I've never known such pain!
I could use this space to complain about my ailments, but I won't. Instead, I'll talk about the company that was w/ me during the walk. Because we stopped several times, we were the last ones in our group to reach camp. But that's okay cause my instructor and I walk to the very end. Such accomplishment! Raising all that money was an accomplishment, but completing the walk-a-thon was sheer exhiliration!
It felt good to be part of something that help a good cause! I felt like I helped some babies by walking...

Love Songs

I'm in love w/ Johnny Gill, Keith Sweat, all those romantics all over again. They're right, Johnny Gill does have a smooth-oh-so-smooth-voice; I can't hardly believe he's still singing, making ladies swoon at their feet. Gotta give it to him, he is still foxy after all these years. He is a romantic after his own heart. :)
If only love & happiness were the answers to everything and I mean everything...
Those romantics, (esp. sweet hot Johnny Gill) knows their way to a girl's heart.
Their videos aren't derogatory towards women like those gangsta rap-hardcore if you well. You know how I'm against foul language. In rap videos, they litter w/ explicit, adult language, not for innocents' ears, though who's stopping 'em? I guess they used explicit language to nail home the point.
Love songs are more mellow-I love 'em to death! Love songs-they are perfect for slow dancing under the moonlight. Ah, dream a little dream! It doesn't hurt that Johnny Gill is wonderful eye candy! Wish he is my arm candy!
Peace out, kiddies!

80s Pop Music Rule!

I loved in Cyndi Lauper in the 80s! I still do! I just check out her videos on YouTube! I love her all over again! So coolalicous! Love her so much in the 80s I pretended to be her! I also named myself after her-I picked my own middle name. I now know that 'Cyndi' is her nickname for 'Cynthia.'
My fave song from the 80s was/i Ms Heaven Is A Place On Earth! I just found out thru YouTube (isn't it handy?) that the singer is Belinda Carlisle. When I wasa kid, everything seems so happy, so-what the word for it?-so heavenly? Maybe cause we're so sheltered. I don't know, but now, I guess life isn't so heavenly cause we have to experience life- the cold, harsh realities of life

Shocking Breaking News!

I know I said I stopped the depressing news, but this isn't about just any ole celebrity: It's about us common folk.
A child was left unattended in a car for 3 hours and he died cause sof the heat. It was 80 degrees outside, but imagine what it was inside. That shouldn't have to have happened. Sad, very sad indeed. The father shouldn't be a UC Irvine professor; he should have his credential taken away from him. If he can't manage his own kid, how can he manage his students?
Sorry to be so depressing. I will try my hardest to have more cherrful news, though I doubt in this crazy, chaotic world, there is such a thing as happiness. (There isn't unless you make it so.)

Facebook

I'm in love w/ Facebook!
I love reconnecting w/ my old friends from my old school day-both elementary & high school days
I love chatting w/ my present friends-my new friends
I'm in love w/ Facebook!
I love, love, loooove
Every single aspect of Facebook!
I can't bear to live w/o my friends from Facebook!
I've got more friends on Facebook than in real time!
What we do w/o Facebook?
How did we ever coexist w/o Facebook?
I thank the guy (or girl) who invented Facebook
There was a time when we didn't have Facebook
when we just reconnect w/ old and make new friends thru face-to-face,
then along came the phone,
then the Webcam & other sorts of hi-tech gadgets before social networking sites like
Facebook, MySpace, and others.

The Future is in your Hands

The young gets overdose on drugs, and old dies b/c of some sort of illness we can't control-let nature take its course. Young Hollywood, are you listening? Your many fans are depending on you for entertainment, so don't and I mean don't get overdose on drugs. As for the old, don't plastic surgery like Botox and other kinds of surgery. Eat right and exercise as often as possible so you'll live longer. Many of your longtime fans love you so. They hate to see you go.
I can't write about every single time a famous (or infamous) star dies, so this'll be my last epilogue for a while.
Gotta write about something cherry! It's become rather quite depressing, so onto cherrier things! ;)

RIP Dixie Carter

Have you heard?
Dixie Carter died due to complication of endometrial cancer. Dixie Carter, best known for her role in Designing Women, has died. It is sad, very sad. I'll bet all of Hollywood is mourning for the loss of this great actress who dabbled in a little bit of singing on Boardway and as an opera singer. Yep, she's a hillbilly gal straight from the heart of Memphis. With a name like that, she was destined to become an artist in her own right. She had 3-count 'em 3-marriages-under her belt, she was a real Hollywood gal b/c only a Hollywood star gets married that many times. LOL!
Another famous actress has died due to an illness, an illness we can't control. Oh, for the life of me! Why, oh why, does this have to happen? It is sad. Very sad indeed.

March of Dimes

I'm doing the March of Dimes aka March for Babies.I found sponserships for fundraising for the walk to raise money for premature babies. That is, babies born early that didn't survive the halfway point. Maybe (?) we're also walking for the stillborns. We could also be walking for the ladies who miscarried their babies.
It's sad that they have to go thru this....
But on other hand, we walking to benefit the premature babies from preventing this kind of thing from happening again.
Many people at the Arc are born prematurely, and they live to tell the story. But they still have to deal w/ disabilities even though they are capable of doing plenty of things. Though others think less of them, they shouldn't care what others think of them.

We used to do the AIDS Walk but just last year change it to March of Dimes. Although I enjoyed volunteering at the AIDS Walk, I didn't at the March of Dimes, so that's why this year I'm doing the March of Dimes.

Book Revue: Rhett Butler's People

I enjoyed reading this novel b/c Civil War-even though it lost a hundreds among thousands of lives- is my favorite war to learn. I learned about the Civil War thru Gone With the Wind and school. Rhett Butler's People definitely tells more about the aftermath of the War like the Ku Klux Klan. Horrible happenings. Horrible. Just horrible. I can't and won't go into details b/c it's just to horrible.Although they don't have those type of stuff anymore, they still have stereotype like being racist towards one another. It's a work-in-process, but still it's still a process.
Rhett Butler doesn't seem like a cad like Gone With the Wind make him out to be. This novel is written from Rhett Butler & friends' perspective. Other than the history in the novel, it shows a side of Rhett Butler I never knew existed from Gone With the Wind. He is caring towards his closest friends among them Belle Watling to the very end till she was killed by her father's hand  &  his kinfolk, which includes his womenfolk-his mother & his lil sister with the exception of his father, who disowned him b/c he killed the overseer's son, Shad Watling; the overseer had a grudge against him all his life. He is a loyal friend towards Col. Andrew Ravanel, a casanova until after the War. Then he joined the KKK, striking terror in every heart till he committed suicide. His first wife thought he was dead so she died. His first wife was Rhett's sister's best friend Ms. Fisher, then he married Rhett married sister after the war. His sister married Rhett's best friend John Haynes till he died in the War and then she married Col. Andrew Ravanel. People called him a 'war profiteer' b/c he was a blockader, getting supplies and other trifles from other countries.
Last but least he loved Scarlett O'Hara the very end. He went to fight in the War when he realized Scarlett O'Hara didn't loved him, but he came back. At the end, despite all odds-meaning all the losses both inanimate and animate that they have survived to come thus far together they'll make, without each other there's no hope. No hope at all.
The ending is really different from Scarlett the sequel to Gone With the Wind by Alexandra Ripley.
I guess everybody has their own interpretation of Gone With the Wind.

JB Justin Bieber!

I am beingwistful here, but I wish I was 2 decades younger, then I could appropriately crush on him!
He sounds like a little girl (can't resist!) And sings of childish, love-comes-only-once kind of things. He sings stuff only a child could sing-being young and naive and innocent
Ah, puppy love!
Sweet, young love in a coccoon shell
Waiting to become a butterfly

Restaurant Review: Lori's Diner

Today I went to Lori's Diner with a friend. I totally recommend it! Not only was the atmosphere was excellent-it have a 50s vibe with all those 50s decor excluding the music, which wasn't 50s music; it was even better than Mel's Drive-In b/c the food's is inexpensive there than at Mel's. They have some stuff like ice cream sodas, which was excellent! that they don't have at Mel's. I have a vegetarian sandwich. It was good 'cept for the red onions. There are some things I like n' some things I hate, which are the red onions!
The service was wonderful!
Can't wait to go back there again!
I find out about this diner ages ago! So sorry it took me so long to try it out, but finally, finally I'm able to try it  out and it was good. No, make that excellent!
Kudos to Lori, whoever that is!
