Justin Bieber's New Movie Never Say Never

Yep, that's right-y'all read it right!
JB has a new movie coming out about his life. It's an inspiring story about his life- about never giving up when things get tough- when the tough gets going, the going gets tough or something like that. It's about a rags-to-riches story. As he said the other night on TV, he 'just  a normal kid living a dream.'
It may be a doc-showing his life before he got famous via his home videos, but it's still amazing that he was plucked from obscurity like from a billion other kids from YouTube just 'cause he got (singing) skills.
Even I want to go, the tix for the exclusive sneak preview is sold out. Can't you believe it!?! They make it like a concert in 3-D (like Hannah Montana 3-D) only diff is that they show home videos and everything before he turned famous.
Call me a cynic, but aren't you supposed to be dead or do something infamous or achieve something more before there's a movie made about your life. I mean, he just started becoming famous, for pete's sake! This must be some crazy, crazy (hectic!) year for JB!
First he became famous thru his music by singing a Chris Brown song on YouTube of all places, where he was discovered. Then he started to work with Usher among other famous artists (Sean Kingston). And then there's Bieber Fever! More like Bieber Mania! Crazy! Life is getting better n' better for him lately. He won AMAs and got nominated for Grammys. Next up: his movie about his life.

Let's Get this Party Started!

Back in the days, (ah those were the days!) way before hippies and the psychedelic era (60s) and love-peace era when everybody was everybody else's love child, there was the beatniks. the more civilized era. The era of Merry Pranksters and Kerouac and Cassady and Allen Ginsberg (of Howl). They live in communes They were non-conformists. They were my kind of people They were part of Be-In. They took over SF, esp Haight Ashbury. That resulted in the hippies era-love peace and LSD. Also mary jane (marijuana). That led to the Summer of Love. We had Summer of Love; East Coast had Woodstock. Then came the war (the Vietnam War, that is) protests were CRAZY! Today's protests of the Iraq were much tamer than the protests of the Vietname War. Tear gas was used. Arrests were made. UC Berkeley made a stand against the war and that started a whole much of protests around the nation including Kent State.
Before the beatniks (50s), the era was old-fashioned. Men looked dapper all the time; women look glam-slam Every outing was a big event. They actually wear formal attire everywhere even to meet up with friends. The women, especially, were spoiled by their men. They weren't allowed to tan, so they carried a parasol or wear a bonnet. They also wear gloves to protect their porcelain skin. They weren't allowed any strenuous activity like the boys were. Girls can only knit, sew, and read (and daydream!)
Boys, on the other hand, can get away with many things like getting dirty but they do many abundant chores to keep themselves occupied like taking care of the horses (wish we girls can do that!), play sports (girls weren't allowed, no fair!)
But one thing boys and girls, men and ladies, no matter the age group, were allowed to do together was dance. With each era, dance forms change, some for the better, some for the worst. It changed with the times.

Life + love

Life can't flourish without love, as this quote from the famous Oscar Wilde dictates:

Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.

Oscar Wilde

You need these 3 things in order to survive in life (nope, not 3 wishes!)

To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.

Reba McEntire

Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.

Charles Dickens

Another take on 'stop & smell the roses,' as this following quote goes:

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,

Old Time is still a-flying:

And this same flower that smiles to-day

To-morrow will be dying.

Robert Herrick

You how people backstab even their best friends to get to the top of the glass ceiling or to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well this quote (rather old-fashioned cause no one plays on their way to the top of the social ladder.) says you should play nice on the way to the top of the social ladder:

Be nice to people on your way up because you'll need them on your way down.

Wilson Mizner

Love Quotes & More

Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.

H. Jackson Brown

To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.

I am nothing special of this I am sure. I am just a common man with common thoughts. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, that has always been enough.

Nicholas Sparks

I love these love quotes. But here's one of my own:

Love in past, present & future
Love always & forever & ever
All is fair in love & war
To thus, love shall conquer all
And everything shall perish
                                            without love
we shall fight to the end
In the end
               Love shall superseded all
It will be the end all-be all
Love is boundless
             everlasting
                               eternity
Reach for the love energy
                                        that radiates off of you

The pain of love

Love is excruciatingly painful at times. This quote says it all:

Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense.

Mark Overby

I know how painful love can be 'cause I've been burned by loved before

Love-let me count the ways

This love quote reminds me of a Taylor Swift song:

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you' re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU... The one who turns to his friends and says, thats her...

I wish there's a guy like that for every girl (like me!)
Hope there's a match for every starcrossed lover!

The meaning of love

Got the holiday blues?
I know, there're the worst.
Well, here's a lil something-something to cheer you right up:

The real meaning of love

What is Love?

Our favorite description of love is from the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin:

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."

-St. Augustine

To love & happiness in the coming years and beyond!
May it be kept unspoiled from temptations and sin and betrayals (maybe I've watching way too many soaps lately-real life isn't like that!)
