Happy Memorial Day!

Factoid: Memorial Day's the beginning of summer, and it ends w/ Labor Day. We celebrate Memorial Day w/ BBQ and maybe we should have fireworks? Nah, that's reserved for 4th of July.
Anyways, we should remember our troops who are stationed here and overseas. May God keep them safe and out of harm's way. Bless them for serving our country. They are representing our country, so let's take a moment of silence. Not just go to the Memorial Day sales or the Memorial Day BBQ or any other Memorial Day festivities. Now is the time to pray, reflect on the veterans who have and will be serving our country. Pray for the wounded at Walter Reed, that they may make a full recovery. And for those that weren't injured, may they make a speedy recovery through their post traumatic stress syndrome. Let's honor the vets who seen the worse; there will be better times ahead, there just gotta be.
Have a great summer, y'all! Enjoy! Live for the moment, don't think about the past or what lies ahead cuz you don't know what the future will brings!

RIP Dennis Hopper

A legend has died one day apart from yet another actor (Gary Coleman). Although I myself have never watched any-I mean any- of his movies, I heard, ok, more like read, that he was a rebel as a young man. His role model was James Dean. He wanted to be a rebel like James Dean, may be rest in peace. When he became to 'difficult' to work w/ he turned to directing. Then when that didn't work out, he returned to acting, acquiring a few prizes along the way. But it was a smooth road to success. It had its rough patches. I mean, he attempted suicide a couple of times, then was sent to rehab. He returned to acting. Didn't direct for at least 18 years. Was an art collector. Last public appearance was when he went to get his Hollywood Walk of Fame. It's great that he got his star on his Hollywood Walk of Fame before his passing. He deserved it after all his struggles and hard work, he was recognized before his death. What a sendoff! He died from advanced prostrate cancer at 74, so he must have lived a happy, fulfilling life since he got a big family with kids and grandkids and all that. Also his fans'll missed him dearly. My heart'll go out to his family and friends and most of all, his fans. My condolences. God bless his soul. : (
XOXO ;P

How Kid Actors Make Something of Themselves

It is a hard-earned road to success. Once you get there, you gotta stay on top. Otherwise, you come crashing down headlong. Be careful or else you'll get burned! Crash and burn! It doesn't helped that the paparazzi are always dodging at your heels. They don't let you live your life. The question is: Do you give them what they want or go with the flow? It is easy to tear down a reputation than to build one cause it takes hard work to build a good, solid reputation; with one word or one action, all your hard work will go down the tubes.
You may be cute once, but you gotta get your grip on reality by steering clear of the bad. When things don't go your way or when things are going bad for you, don't despair, there's always a sliver lining in the cloud, a shiny egg in a bunch of rotten eggs, etc. Just don't give up hope. And don't mix with the bad crowd where drugs, alcohol, sex could become addictive. There is always hope. Hope for the future. Get out of the slum and rise to the occasion to be a role model, set an example for the youngsters who don't know any better and who look up to you. Don't let scandal eat you alive. Prove them how wrong they all are by become in general a role model for the kids: selfless, giving, kind, generous. If you give, then others will do the same. Don't judge a book by its covers; know them first. The paparazzi only are doing their jobs, putting scandal after scandal about the latest stars.

Another 80s Teen/Kid Actor Has Died RIP

First it's Corey Haim died... Now it's Gary Coleman... What kind of example are we setting for kids nowadays?
Factoid: W/ Gary Coleman gone, Todd Bridges is the last remaining kid left from Diff'rent Strokes. Sad but true fact.
Anyways, I love, loooove him since Diff'rent Strokes. He was sooooooo funny and adorable as a kid. I guess we all outgrown him. Sad that he got to play all these lame roles as he got older like midget, elf, whatever. I guess he can't always played adorable, little kid because of his height. Maybe cause he outgrown those roles, so he was given all those lame roles but he kept his sense of humor in tact while he went along for the ride-the ride of his life.
May heaven be good to him! Bless his soul.

Let's Hear the Battle Cry!

I can't stand the haters of the world! They are ready just to put us down for being who we are. It isn't right, just isn't! I can't withstand the hate. Can't we all just get along? Stop the discord between different groups of race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. Can't we stop the discrimination? Can't we stop the violence and destructiveness? We all people, no matter what race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation we are.
Stop the madness! Can we live in harmony? Why can society be in utopia (where everything's at peace, no one's at war w/ each other. Everybody gets along w/ each other, whether they are of different race, sex, or even sexual orientation).
Oh, yeah and also disabilty.... I know people of different disability are looked down for being disabled. But shouldn't they be an example for the folks who look down on them cuz they don't know the difference. In their mind, the disabled think of themselves as 'normal.' They don't have any qualms about being stereotyped. They live in their own lil world. They are determined to overcome all obstacles.
Some disabled are even more intelligent than the average person. They are like your next door neighbor. In fact, they could be your next door neighbor..
If the disabled can learn to get along w/ other people of different races, sexes, ethnicities, everybody can get along w/ each other. But that's just fantasy, right? In a perfect world, everybody would get along w/ each other. But this ain't a perfect world, this is reality, unfortunately. We can't live harmony. We will have the wicked and the good. The wicked are being discriminating, hateful who think they're better than they are, which they ain't. The good are the people who just ignored their hateful speech.

KA-BOOM! brought to by KFOG

Last nite was the first time I ever saw fireworks live (since I was a babe). It was fan-tastic! I've never seen anything like it! The most I've seen of fireworks is on TV on 4th of July, which isn't really 'live' for me cuz I'm not there although they said on TV that it's 'live.' Maybe it was broadcast earlier, no? Really, how can a girl trust all those TV people? Anyways, last night was spec-ta-cu-lar!!
They have fireworks every Mother's Day, but they moving so they have fireworks last night at Candlestick Park. We were able to see it from Brisbane. We were even able to see the poor souls driving back to their respective home. Poor souls.
Wonder what they'll do for the 4th of July?!
XOXO ;P
